I've been shooting Jessie for almost 2 years and watched her go from an unsigned artist to being represented by 604/Universal; through the filming of her first video, and the long awaited release of her first CD; face the stress and long days and nights on the road, smooshed in tiny van with so many boy cooties travelling across Canada heaps of times; and transform into a Canadian Country Starlet.

Ever since I got Aperture I've been loving converting my shots to black & white using the Monochrome mixer. Especially in this case, as she was being blasted with blue light and i didn't want my dear friend to look like a Smurfette.

I was also playing with graininess with this series to give the photos a bit more age and edge. they almost look like film.
