Today's TILT is dedicated to some of my favorite things (hence it's an all-about-me mosaic, I guess haha) in honor of my birthday tomorrow.

I've populated this mosaic with shots from my contacts that represent things that have brought & continue to bring joy:

Things I Love Thursday: A Candy-Colored Christmas

My husband and I threw caution to the wind this year and instead of using our traditional ornaments, we loaded up on retro pastel and brightly-hued ornaments. Gone were the cranberry red ribbon and evergreen bulbs, and in their place, shiny disco balls and white tinsel! It was pretty fun:)

This week's TILT is dedicated to the yummy nontraditional colors of Christmas. These shots are just beautiful!

This morning I was greeted with the first snowfall of the season. I love snow this time of year, and there aren't words to describe the silly joy I get out of my dogs' excitement over the fluffy white stuff. It's funny, but dogs of all sizes and ages turn into wild-eyed, frolicking puppies in the snow--as evidenced by these fabulous Flickr shots:)

I love receiving a handwritten note or letter. Don't get me wrong--email has become a major communication tool that I use daily--but there is just something about someone, especially nowadays, taking the time to write you. I love all of these shots because they capture the romance of a handwritten message.

I am so, so excited: This weekend I am finally going to get to see Phantom of the Opera. I've been in love with the music and the story for so long, but have never seen the actual play live. Though this TILT is a bit darker than ones I usually do, these shots are just gorgeous & perfectly capture the dark romance of the story!

There are no words to describe how grateful I am for the wonderful inspiration I've gotten from the talented photographers of Flickr. It's been slightly over a since I joined, and not only have I been introduced to the amazing work of people from all over the world, I have received inspiration, feedback, support & smiles. So much so, that I took a huge step a couple of months ago and opened a store on Etsy. Though a bit terrifying, it is a huge step for me, not only as a photographer, but as a confident woman.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...I'm looking forward to another year of beauty from all of you~*

This year, my husband and I are finally creating Halloween costumes based on Día de los Muertos. Spanish was my second major and we both lived in Mexico for a few months while studying abroad, so a love of this culture and amazing holiday is within us. These photos beautifully showcase the bold colors, striking visuals and deep traditions of Día de los Muertos ("Day of the Dead")---they are also providing inspriation for both my TILT this week and our costumes!
