106, 1 minute exposures stacked together to make one image. A little on the sci-fi side but it's pretty neat to visually witness stars tracking through the sky. The camera actually shot about 180 in total but the other 70+ images was completely covered with clouds.

I've learned a lot from this past week and I look forward to the next time I shoot a starry night. The only thing I cannot top of course is the setting. I know now that I can not exceed a 30 sec exposure and will have to bump up iso to about 3200 and compose at 17mm. I'm still happy with this shot all things considered.

My first decent attempt at a Star lit night. Biggest regret was instead of turning up ISO, I choose for a longer exposure, which produced quite a bit of coma and noise. The other big regret is that I left a lamp on at the "James Home" that burnt out lots of the beautiful lines of the home--It would have looked much cleaner and give this image a better feeling of serenity. I couldn't capture another image in time because of the rolling clouds that come every few minutes it seems. Oh well another trip perhaps ;). These shots are extremely challenging in Kauai because of the unpredictable weather and rolling clouds. I obsessively checked out the night sky throughout the 7 nights we stayed there and weather forecasts were pretty much useless.

My first attempt at long exposure landscape photography. I have a ton of images to process and so little time. It's going to be lots of landscapes and portraits from my trip to Kauai this last week. I didn't get to shoot as many Kauai landmarks as I would have liked but have many of Hanalei Bay.
