I really like the old USSR architectural influence on this building.
A pretty impressive structure – designed to be imposing.

EDIT October 2010 - Added to "in loving memory of Imapix". A true photographic inspiration and a great man - he will be very much missed on Flickr.

This is the male spider I saw, trying so hard and for so long to mate with a female who looked like she'd rather eat him.

In this shot he'd had a narrow escape and was sitting there as if to say "why the heck an I doing this?"

Hormones have a lot to answer for!

This bird was quite the opposite of the first one. Happy to east stuff out of people's hands.

But of all the shots I took - most of which are sharp - I like this one best. Somehoe convey's the energy of this little chap better.

Sometime in the last day my Flickr counter went over two million views.

I'm thinking that's quite alot! :-) (Even though I know some Flickr stars get that almost every month!)

However, it has to be said that - on the way to 2,000,000 - some of those hits have been dubious! For example, two of my most viewed images - to put not too fine a point on it - suck! "Upskirting" was posted as a joke and seldom gets less than 50 hits a day! So I can't take the hits as an indicator of whether my photos are any good.

The most important thing to me on Flickr are my contacts and flickrmails and opportunity to meet some great people. Amazingly talented people that are a constant source of inspiration and wonder. I'm seriously in awe at the ability of some of my contacts to consistently produce the most stunning images, or to constantly push and explore the boundaries of creative photography, or somehow connect with a landscape, or evoke a deep emotion. Makes me feel quite humble.

For that I'm very grateful.

Thanks everyone who has visited, commented and made Flickr a great place!
