It's rare to have a picture of a person on my photostream.

When we got to the top (or; the top as is defined by when I am DONE climbing any further) I collapsed into a bit of a heap on a convenient rock, trailside. I had my camera in my hands and looked up and thought it was worthy of a frame or two.

This is the spot where I like to stop for a little snack and some water. This is where the trail starts to get a little challenging.

In fact - on the day I took this picture I didn't get too much further up the hill. The steep grade combined with wet snow made it something I didn't want to attempt.

It's barely even a stream at this point. By the bottom of the mountain it's got quite a decent volume.

It was great to have company for the ride up Upper Sheep Creek. Of course when we got to the top and he started bounding uphill like a mountain goat while I stumbled, staggered and wheezed my way uphill... I kind of wanted to throw him off the mountain. hehe

Registered Trapping Concession 231: a line cabin.

I see a new woodstove has been put in. This upgrade takes this cabin from "emergency use only" to "not a bad hunting cabin." :)

I love bombing around on the quad. I put on a few miles at the trapline on the South Canol over Thanksgiving weekend. Good times, for sure!

I love how, at various times of the year, you can find these little potholes in different places. Frequently they have ducks in them and sometimes... if you get really lucky (which I didn't on this day) there will be a moose splashing around and eating water plants.

I used to live right across the river from this big lump of earth. It was an interesting playground for me and my pets, that's for sure!

I looked on a couple of maps trying to figure out the real name of this... hill... but nothing was listed so I will stand by The Wart. ;o)

Autumn at Takhini Crossing

Right where the Old Dawson Trail used to cross the Takhini River, you can look over the corner of the Alaska Highway and see miles of beautiful fall valley. I used to live right in this valley, it was gorgeous!

I love shooting from the middle of the road. It reminds me again how much I love living in a place where one can do that, stand there for over a minute getting it just right... and not get run over. OR have a vehicle in your line of sight, for that matter!
