A collection of old machines / engines on Level 0 of Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum. The area called "Power Up"

These were previously on display at the old Science Museum on Newhall Street (until 1997).

This is the Rolling Mill Engines.
The larger engine was made around 1820 and the smaller engine around 1840, but the maker is unknown. These engines powered machinery to roll metal to the required thickness. They were used by Charles Emery and George Ellis and Sons at Wychall Mill, Kings Norton in Birmingham until 1943.
