The Vancouver Aquarium officially opened this summer's exhibit, and it is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Thousands of jellies in several tanks, most of them taking up entire walls. Definitely a must-see and you're gonna WANT to take your camera when you go cause these creatures are mesmerizing!

Whether the Lady of Guadalupe is the Virgin Mary herself as the Catholics' faith proclaims, or that she is really Coatlaxopeuh (try saying that over and over) another name for Earth Mother Tonantzin to the indigenous people, she is central to Mexico's faith. As a plain observer, this church is a historical and architectural feast for the eyes, just like hundreds of churches like this in Mexico, and I'm glad I bought this fisheye lens.

Have you walked around the streets of the West End lately? It was my day off and I did just that. I went with Chris and our friend Randy, who brought his Nikon D800. I really went to town with it (almost literally)! I'm a Canon guy but man, was I impressed with the D800. Anyway (shut up Zach), going back to the topic, West End streets are lined with bee-you-tifull cherry blossoms and magnolias and dogwoods and cherry trees. And the greens are even greener! I love spring here. When it's sunny.

The magnolias are budding and the camellias are starting to bloom. A koi fish gracefully slice through the sky's reflection under the pagoda, and just around the willow tree past the wooden bridge and through the moon gate, I hear the beating of drums. It's spring at the Chinese Garden!

You won't fully experience Ciudad de México until you walk the streets of Distrito Federal, or simply, el D.F. ("ehl deh ehfeh") We strolled a certain calle where street merchants hollered and bellowed, enticing passers-by to trade or participate. This street pictured - Calle Madero - is less of a circus, yet still very entertaining. The old buildings were marvelous per usual, and I love how you never know what you'll find once you step inside.

Up early morning, my dad, mom and I went for a short stroll along the beach at Las Rosas Hotel and Spa in Ensenada. It was nice to see the Pacific Ocean again after leaving San Francisco. In Vancouver, we have English Bay, which is an inlet in the Straight of Georgia (the water between the mainland and Vancouver Island) and hardly "the ocean" which some Vancouverites call it, when they want to go to the beach. Anyhoo, it was a nice time, dad and I both enjoy taking photos and of course he was there taking pictures with me. That morning walk with my parents is one of those simple things I will remember for a long time.

El Valle de Los Gigantes as it is locally known, seems a world away from ours. Giant cacti known as the Cardon grow as tall as 50 feet! Who would have known this little town nurses the world's largest cactus? There is something Jurassic about this place and with all this wide open sky I bet you its magical here when the sun sets and the stars come out.
