Welke weg je ook gaat,
Gedurende het leven,
Linksom of rechtsom?
Het is om het even.

Allemaal eindigen we
Op hetzelfde punt.
De oevers van rivier Styx,
Je over mag zonder munt.

Charon en zijn bootje,
Waren niet meer zo vlug.
Om lange files te voorkomen,
Is hij vervangen door een brug.

Laat je door de Hades,
Niet te snel verleiden.
Er is geen weg terug,
Vanaf gene zijde.

Zes keer per uur,
Wurmt het zich door de stad.
Tussen Centraal en RAI,
Enkel over hetzelfde pad.

Stampend, schokkend,
Krijsend als een getergd dier.
Zwanger van een vracht,
Zwartrijders in lijn 4.

Een eeuw zwoegen,
Tijdrijden, door weer en wind,
Soms vervloekt, maar toch,
Ieders trouwe vrind.

Met de komst van de Noord-Zuid,
Zijn mogelijk de dagen geteld,
Daarom nu al dit nostalgisch beeld,
Van een Amsterdamse held.

City of much color.
A small cultural melting pot,
With a reputation, much taller.

Amsterdam,
City where on every corner of the street,
You stumble over a multitude of vendors,
Selling booze, magic mushrooms and weed.

Amsterdam,
City that doesn't abide to the rules.
The streets are a free haven,
Obedience is only for fools.

Amsterdam,
City of free spirit and drugs,
Is it ruled by the officials,
Or the weed and mushroom thugs?

New bridge over the river Waal

Length: 285 m
Hight: 60 m
Weight: 7000 ton.

Within a few months it will be lifted from this dock,
turned 90 degrees and hoisted into its final position
as visible in the back of the photo.
