Okay, so it has been awhile since I've posted anything. Life happens and keeps our little family busy. I have lots of puppy photos that I haven't even been through yet, so hopefully I can post some more over time. All of the puppies have gone to their homes leaving us a big mess to clean up in the basement (not that kind of mess, although we had plenty of that too for several weeks). We miss the little sh**s but we are happy they have families. Here is an image of Devotion laying low, yet keeping his eye on me...ready to attack that big, mean camera. You can almost hear the baby "grrrrr". Little does he know, that he isn't going to hide from anything with that wagging tail giving him away.

All of the puppies, except one, are with their forever families. Our house has been much quieter, but we do miss these cute little faces. They all went in to be spay and neutered. Some had a extra claw or two that needed removed. Here is Mercy sporting the cone of shame to keep him from chewing at his stitches. He wasn't happy, but the cone along with his puppy dog eyes just made him so darn cute.

Such a sweet moment of Evan playing with his favorite of the puppies, Devotion. He put Devotion down in the yard and ran around while Devotion chased him everywhere. Youthful exuberance on full display. When he stopped and held Devotion, I snapped a few of them together, which will make a priceless memory. I know Evan will miss Devotion when he goes to his forever family, but I also know that the kids have enjoyed the journey with these pups.

Have Mercy! (Boxer/American Bulldog)

Have Mercy...introducing Mercy! Mercy is the smallest of the litter, but we she isn't a runt. She is a sweet all white bulldog/boxer mix. Being smaller doesn't hold her back one bit...she can hold her own when playing with her brothers and sisters. Mercy also likes the camera; the others weren't so sure of studio flash and camera, but Mercy didn't seem scared one bit.

Introducing Devotion! For the record, we didn't name him, the puppies were named for the fruits of the spirit in the bible (Galatians 5:22-23), because their mother's name is Faith. While that is his given name from Wishbone Canine Rescue, Evan calls this guy Buttercup. He is Evan's favorite. Like Charity, he is one of the larger puppies. He has an amazing fawn color coat and blue eyes. Evan says, "Buttercup is very active which also makes him sleepy. He also likes eating!"

Introducing Charity! Charity is large and in charge. She is one of the larger puppies and was the most mobile from the day she joined us. Watching her run at 3 weeks was priceless. She is the life of the party for sure. She is also the howler of the group...I mean full on wolf howl! She is Ethan's favorite puppy.

Introducing Hope...our freckle-faced cutie. She has unique spots on her nose, pretty dark outlined ears, and a cute little corkscrew tail. Hope is pretty possessive of her toys and enjoys playing. She is very docile but don't tease her about her tail...she may give you a "grrrrr".

I still haven't taken formal photos of the puppies yet, but I did manage a few of the puppies in the pen recently. These two cuddle buddies are adorable with their black wrinkle snouts. The puppies have received their Parvo shot and will be photo ready soon.

Faith Portrait - B&W (click to view on black)

I took a series of portrait images like this while Faith was in her pen with her puppies. We have a blue tarp that lines the sides of their enclosure, which typically makes for an ugly backdrop. However, with a black and white conversion, the blue can be made to look black and whoa-la, an dynamic portrait. I love photography!

Early Spring Magnolia

How magical is Spring? Waking to birds chirping and heading outside to realize you don't need that annoying winter coat. Being able to get the patio furniture out, the hose reels ready, and the garden plots started. Seeing the first green sprouts popping from the earth with the first tree buds visible...simply magical. Ice cream shops are preparing, summer clothes are appearing in store windows, lawn and garden centers are filling, and farms are gearing up for a busy season. Our house is busting with children ready to play outside, boys putting on tank tops and shorts (even if it is a tad early), and our new family dog and her 7 adorable puppies more than ready to take their first romp in the greening grass. Spring is magical…It is a time to sit back and appreciate God’s miracles.

While the girls were involved with Girl Scout's this weekend, us boys went down the Lake Petersburg for some guy time. Fishing, birding and visiting with grandma and grandpa was a blast. The boy's called it watching nature's TV. I couldn't agree more.

A Busy Momma

Many have wanted to see photos of the puppies. I can't take very many photos of them until they have had their shots. Then I will be able to take them out of their pin safely. I don't want to jeopardize their health as they are only 3.5 weeks old. Here is quick image of Faith from above after nursing her 7 little puppies to sleep. They are drunk with milk and are very happy. Faith has been a wonderful mother, especially for only being 9 months old herself. It isn't ideal for a dog this young to go through this already, but we are happy to be fostering her and her pups to help her through this time. She is soaking up all the love our family is giving her.
