For 7 DOS: This week's theme is "A Wee Bit of___?___" wherein 25% or less of the photo has just a wee bit of something that is the focal point or main subject of the photo. Here we have a wee bit of yellow (and blue). I am still thinking of adding white borders to all of my photos because I really don't like that black viewing background (unless I want to choose it!)

For 7 DOS: This week's theme is "A Wee Bit of___?___" wherein 25% or less of the photo has just a wee bit of something that is the focal point or main subject of the photo.
For Technique Tuesday's photo, I have added a large white border to a very darkly lit photo so you can actually see the dark photo with its wee bit of light. Had this photo been uploaded without the white border, I doubt you would have been able to see it. I have also added a wee bit of text to the border. I really dislike viewing photos on a black background unless I choose to do so. I might just add a large white border to everything I post.

But the "wee bit of..." that I intended for this photo is really the light globes afloat on our pool.

The mandala is a template for the mind, a state of peace and order, a resolution of the chaos within. In Jung’s words, "The severe pattern imposed by a circular image of this kind compensates the disorder and confusion of the psychic state—namely, through the construction of a central point to which everything is related."

This mandala was created in Photoshop from an image of stainless flatware in a partitioned drawer.

This is the best pen there is for signing checks--the UniBall Signo 207. They use a pigmented ink that is virtually impossible to wash or bleach away--which is a huge deterrent for those who would commit check fraud and identity theft. I love the way they write, too.

Thanks to Brendan Murphy for the use of his Holga texture.

This image was created by following a tutorial on simulating a Holga effect in Photoshop. Here is the link: blip.tv/chadritchienet/simulate-a-holga-camera-effect-usi...

I followed all the steps and then added the Holga layer. Also, I chose not to make this completely B&W as the tutorial suggests, but desaturated it instead to get a vintage look.

Doric Order

Remember learning about the various types of Greek columns? This one is known as the Doric Order. Here you see it on a typical stucco structure in Arizona.

I was really searching and scratching my head for another photo to represent "Order" for 7 DOS--and then I remembered all about columns and their names! Whew! Mission accomplished.

Created for 7 DOS Technique Tuesday: I took several photos of the packing boxes I have from Amazon. The 2 photos I selected to use were cropped into a square format and layered together. I then added an old book's end papers for texture. The idea was to make a photographic collage that would be very similar in look and feeling to the collages of Kurt Schwitters--without using glue. The word "Merz" appears in may of Schwitter's collages--my word is "Mazon".
