When we were out on the rocks catching the last rays of bright sunset at Bass Harbor, another flickr photographer came bounding down the trail carrying his gear, shouting, "Hello!" Here is Ignacio in front of me, and our newfound friend Nate Parker on the rocks below.

A dark, blustery day with dense fog and high waves near Nubble Lighthouse on Cape Neddick, Maine. Some people were laughing at me trying to take pictures from behind a tripod under an umbrella as they snapped pictures with their phone cams. I think Ig was covering his camera with a tshirt and lens hood out there.

(I fed these seagulls and their buddies some leftover bread and crackers from my picnic basket and they were catching pieces in flight. After a while they would just take a cracker right from my fingers, which was pretty cool.)

This is me resting on a rock by the harbor with the lighthouses shining in the distance. It was so calm that night that you had to strain to hear even a whisper of waves. The glow on the left horizon by the island silhouette is the moon about to rise.

This is Ignacio climbing the steps with his gear on a stormy day from our Maine vacation. This lighthouse was difficult to find, yet there were several other tourists there fighting the icy wind as well, hiking up the steep path to the light as the spring snow fell.

The bay was so silent and still in the darkness. The glow in the distance is the moon beginning to rise. Some say that God lights up the night sky to show us that we are never alone in the dark. I like that thought.

During the Revolutionary War, they placed a huge chain across the Hudson below here to keep the British from advancing north up the river.

Iggie is surveying the sights from the top of the cliff barrier. We were on a summer drive visiting the scenic viewpoints over the Hudson River near Peekskill, New York.

Now that the leaves are gone I really am grateful to have seen the bright Fall colors that were all around in the nearby woods last month. Ignacio is out there setting up his camera for a photo from our hiking trip near Fitzgerald Falls in Monroe, New York.

Ignacio at Shohola Falls, Pennsylvania. It's been a year since we found this giant waterfall and we've seen it through autumn leaves, swift flood, crazy ice, dark foggy nights, fallen trees, free range chickens, bear hunters, humidity and mosquitos. Once I slipped in the mud and almost fell off the cliff into the river below. I don't go to that part anymore. lol. It's still fun to visit! There is a lake and dam above the waterfall and they were letting very little water through this weekend. This photo shows a portion of the center tier of the series of drops.

Luckily it's a little stream. This is Ignacio setting up his shot (while I'm setting up my shot) of Fitzgerald Falls In the jumbled forest of upstate New York. I'll upload my landsape photo tomorrow maybe.

I got my new truck today, it's great....though the previous owner was very sad to part with it. aww

When we were out photographing New York's Awosting Waterfall, the guys thought it would be funny to dress up our friend Adrian with all of our camera equipment... Adrian's pictured here and below with an iPhone and various Canon cameras and lenses, including a 1DSmarkIII, a 5DmarkII, a 40D and a 50D, and is standing by Manfrotto and Oben tripods.
