This beautiful spot just outside the city of Brantford seems to have a lot to offer us right now, Les, Jun and myself took a second trip back here, we seem to get a bit of everything, some deer, a coyote and the gorgeous landscape. I think will be returning again.

One of my other shots from our early morning outing last Saturday. I can't wait to go back there this weekend and see what we can find, I think Les, Darlene and I must of seen about seven or more deer that morning.

Another outing with my friends Darlene and Les. We had gone out the night before scouting out some spots to shoot for the morning and I thought of this place at the last minute, and when Les said that it would most likely be a nice sunrise do the fact that the sunset was so good, I knew this was the place to come. It was a great morning and worth the early rise out of bed.

Billy Green Waterfalls

This is one of 150 different waterfalls that can be found in the Hamilton ON Canada area. Darlene, Les and myself stop the catch this one with whatever remaining light we could get, it was well past sunset and I took this one on a 120sec exposure in order to bring it out.

Well, we all made it together again for a spring shoot out to Spencer Gorge, even our friend Jun had made it this time, we haven't seen the guy in awhile and it was great to catch up with him. Darlene, Les, Jun and myself took our time and the weather help along with that, since it was overcast we were able to shoot that much longer. This image is one of three that I'm pretty happy with.

This is from our outing with the BC Club a couple of weeks back at an old factory in Woodstock ON, we had gone there to take some shots of the this place and my friend Nikole, also from the club asked if we could do some shots for their band "Halfway 2 Sanity" Les and Darlene where also there taking shots for some composites. Les was the one who came up with this idea for a shot and I only had one light to work with, so I used the walls to bounce the light around, I'd wish had the second to add a bit of fill, but I'm happy with this one for the most part.

Our small group of photographers, Les,Darlene and myself made it out to the Tillsonburg area to find some old cars and trucks to shot. Thanks to Les's son for showing us this spot, Chris also came for the ride. I'm not sure what caught my eye on this one, maybe it was just the curve in the fender or how it seem to be melting into the earth. I'm sure someone loved this bug at one time?

Out for a drive last Saturday morning hoping I might find a great place to shoot, with no luck and the sunrise fast approaching I just happened to see this back road and thought it couldn't hurt to check it out. I wasn't really happy with it, but my intent here was to try capturing some sun flare in my image. Its funny, when you want it, you have to work for it and when you don't, it just shows up, just like some other things in life I guess! lol.

Couple of weeks ago the weather turned and it was starting to feel like spring was going to show itself, man that was wrong, lol Darlene, Les and myself thought it would be best to try our luck with a sunset shoot at Wilkes Dam and I'm glad we did. It was great to get out, even if the weather was just a tease!

Our club had lighting workshop last week with a large variety of models. Myself and my friend Randi Scott along with a number of other Photographers help with bringing out our studio equipment and letting the members get a feel for using the lights, It was a great day. This image was at one of the other stations and I was trying to work with what they had in place already. The model asked if I could do something that was more focused on the old mic this time rather than on herself. I opened the lens right open ran around turning off the other lights and putting the keylight right down to its lowest power, this was the last shot I took out of four or five.

Had some more family over last night for a family photo shoot and I asked Kelly to let me shoot him on his own. I was telling him how much character I could see in him and the camera would love him. He wasn't to sure about the whole thing but he went ahead with it. I knew his images would come out great, I myself just love this one and when I had showed it to my wife her words where "wow". Thanks for posing Kelly!!

This was a one light setup AB800 @ full power with a gridded beauty dish placed right of camera.

I got a call from my nephew a few weeks back asking if I'd take care of doing some engagement photos for them, I was more than happy to help them with this. Last week we got together for dinner and started working away in the studio for their images, after a couple of hours these are some of the images I came up with for them. This was just two Opus H250s on bounce umbrellas, I was moving from a low key shoot to a high key and wanted to leave the front lights out to start as to get this effect, later moving in the front keylight and fill.

I've been home sick for a couple of days now and have been resting on the couch watching some videos on using CS6, I'm trying to find a way to touch up my work a bit more. I took this shot of Jen a few days ago and just got up to trying some of what I've learned, but also put my twist on it. This was a two light setup, keylight is AB1600 on a gridded beauty dish at 1/4 power front and low of subject. The hairlight is a AB800 with a 20 degree grid 45 camera left at full power. I started off using Lightroom4, then brought it into CS and was then finished with Topaz clean.

I'm trying to get my studio work back in order and spend my photography time inside for the winter learning some new lighting or just improve on what I have learned so far. This is my little helper Emma posing with an outfit we had kicking around the house from Halloween. My Keylight is a AB1600 at 1/2 power on a large octabox camera left, AB800 at 1/4 power, camera right to fill in some of the shadows from the flowers. At the rear I'm still using the first set of lights that I've owned which my friend Randi sold me, these are two Opus H250s right and left at full power on to small umbrellas to give me as white a background as possible. I think they might be losing some of the power as I had to bring the camera up to ISO 400 to get there.
