I downloaded a big update for Snapseed on my iPhone. They added a set of filters called Retrolux and this is one of them that I played with today. Lots of ways to play with it, too! And I found out that Snapseed was acquired by Google (I live under a rock, btw) and now Snapseed is free!! Also, Snapseed is now available for Android phones!! If you don't have it, you must get it!! It was worth what I paid for it and now it's free!!

I went on a photo walk today with a group of photographers. Several people that I know and shoot with and a few new photographers. It was great fun as it was a send-off to one of our group who is moving to California. He will be missed. We shot for hours and then had lunch together. All in all, a really great day!

I met a photographer friend of mine for dinner in the city after work yesterday, but I had to make a quick stop for a selfie on the way. When I walked around this side of the barn, I noticed two chairs laying in the weeds by the wall of the barn. I just might have squealed with glee, then I picked one up and it was in good enough shape to sit on. So I parked myself there like a queen and took my shot. I was quickly on my way, but I very well may come back and play more with the chairs. Dinner was great and we had a fun time catching up. He found a great place that served meat (he had meat lasagna) as well as vegan options (I had a roasted vegetable pizza on whole wheat crust with vegan cheese). We both really enjoyed our choices. The temperature was really mild last night (and no wind) so we walked around the neighborhood for a while and stopped for an espresso. Perfect end to week one of my birthday month celebration!

Edit: when I went to edit my geotag that shows China, there was a message that this is a known Flicker (and maybe iPhone?) issue and that they are working to fix it. Glad to know it's not just me!

I don't usually make NY resolutions, but one I will make is that although I won't be doing another 365 any time soon, I will continue to take pictures and post on Flickr, and will continue to participate in silly things like Bench Monday and Facedown Tuesday, and I look forward to checking out your streams!!! ...wearing a hat, and my orange coat, in front of a barn, on the first day of my birthday month. Nothing too special going on today, but I did make time to drive through Starbucks to get a quad Venti latte with pumpkin spice on top this morning. It was also the first day of Red Cup Season!! The person behind me in line at Starbucks got a treat, too! Sharing the love!! Oh, and I got the nicest Flickr mail this morning from one of my contacts. Helped to start my day with a smile!

Today was my friend MJ's pick for We're Here! so I really wanted to play. So I headed in a different direction after work and found this barn. I loved the reflection in the window. Sorry for the post and run, but my kid needs some clothes.

I've been wanting to explore here for a while now and tonight the road construction and traffic were such that I was able to find a place to park and get over here. It's not like the other corn cribs I've shot in, this one is very much falling down. The wall posts on the left side of the image were so shaky that I couldn't use them for any kind of support to climb up on the concrete. Inside the section on the right side were a lot of interesting looking very old doors and windows.There were nails and a lot of broken glass on the ground, likely from those doors and windows. I didn't stay long and storms started moving in quickly and the sky got dark. It ended up storming before I got home. Today was the last day of temperatures in the upper 70's. Tomorrow the high will be in the upper 50's. Boo. I'm so not ready for winter.

I apologize for all the post-and-runs lately, getting ready for a road trip adventure this weekend on top of an already crazy schedule.

I just wanted one last picture of my back with the mole that my doctor wanted to remove tonight. I had already taken a quick selfie after work on my way home to pick up my son for our appointments. But I decided to go with this one. Not artistic, just real life. A real day in this 366 day project of mine. I have my fingers crossed that these won't be the start of a series. Results back in a week or two.

Seriously, people! Make an appointment for your yearly exams. And have them exam everything!! We want you around!! xo

This was a quick one after work yesterday. Another one with a minimalist theme - today for ODC. I chose this quote to put with my image because not only did I see the beauty in these clouds in this grey sky, as I headed west on the way to my dinner date I got to see the sun as it hit and went below the horizon. It was a fiery ball of red and the color was pretty much isolated to the sun itself because the clouds were so very thick. It was really an amazing sight to see that big burst of red in an otherwise grey sky!!
