More printing. Not sure how I feel about this warmtone paper. The whites don't pop as much as my other paper. So experimenting is on the agenda. This paper does have a richness of detail that is pretty incredible. I want to get some of this work produced and on its way.

Takes two to tango... Started contact printing. Turns out contact printing can be rather nuanced. I am trying out a two tray developing system with one tray being 1+9 and the second tray being 1+3 Seems to add quite a bit of depth to these prints so far. I may get pulled into printing for a couple days.

Revisioning my hometown one photowalk at a time. This is from this afternoon. I am sure some of you cold climate people will be surprised to see an ice house like this in North Carolina, but the Eno River is just down the hill. In winter, ice would be harvested from the river and carried here. This one was originally built around 1810 I think.

My using the 810 everyday marathon continues. This is day 8 of photographing and developing and its supposed to rain tomorrow so I may have to break the streak there as I made images this morning. I must say I've learned alot by doing this. For starters that this process lens is quite excellent.

Golden hour, on the river makes everything kissed by the sun. I have photographed and developed film every night this week from the 8x10, and I feel I have learned alot. For starters this film needs to be exposed PERFECTLY or else. So very judicious use of the meter and a real understanding of where light might be "hot" on the negative. There is no correction really in the dev. If you short this film its not developed at all, and over development is just plain ugly. So GET THE EXPOSURE is the name of this game. Its making me a more light aware photographer.

I am convinced enough of this development that I ordered another box of this film. It does print beautifully. Love how the HC 110 makes the shadows so readable.

More HC110 on X-Ray. I am thinking I am about in a sweet spot with this. It needs Potassium Bromide to keep the fogging down.

More development experimentation, this time with a gram of kBr to act as a restrainer. Still playing with high dilution HC110 here. Tones are better than previous image for sure.

This is the same image as the previously posted one on X-ray film for comparison. The contrast is heighted some detail lost, some gained. Very subtle but compare for yourself. That white line on the left happened in the upload and does not exist on the neg.
