A panaroma from Caprock Canyons State Park. I call this formation The Guardians, because of the 5 "heads" at the top of the rocks. This is a stitched image from 48 high resolution images.

Waiting for the sunrise, I thought the low moon reflecting in the water of Lake Theo was nice. The stars were about gone, and the sky was starting to lighten up to the east. The reflection danced in the water as the winds shifted.

From Caprock Canyons State Park. WAY over a dry riverbed, I'm sitting on a bluff with my feet hanging off. My hubby would KILL me if he knew ;-)

I shot this with my iPhone, I also shot the same scene with B/W film. I hope it turns out good.

The iconic formation in Palo Duro Canyon State Park, the Lighthouse. An relitavely easy 3-mile hike, followed by a pretty tough climb up to this formation. It's worth it to see this.

Shot with my Nikon FE2 camera on Ilford HP5+ 400 ISO.

From Caprock Canyons State Park. Standing on the canyon rim, looking down to the riverbed that dug these walls over millions of years. I bet it's awesome to see with water!

Shot with my Nikon FE2 on Ilford HP5+, scanned and processed digitally.
Ilford HP5+ 400 ISO, under exposed and overdeveloped - camera setting was on 300 ISO, and develop time pushed from 12 to 16.5 minutes.

I shot about 10 rolls of B/W film over the weekend in Palo Duro Canyon, and went on the Lighthouse trail with my friend Christina. It was a nice hike, the weather was beautiful. The climb UP and then back down sucked, but over all a nice day. This is Christina leaving me behind on the way back to camp, as she walked towards the Devil's Fork.

I enjoy looking at the canyon walls as the sun sets. The light bounces off on the eastern side and gives a beautiful golden glow. The dark clouds muffled much of the glow, promising rain that never came.
This is the iconic view from the visitors center from the rim of the canyon.

A long 3 mile hole up here on a gradual slope, then a VERY tough 1/4 mile climb on slippery gravely sand and we made it!
I took lots of B/W film images here; didn't even carry the digital.

I don't normally do HDR images, but this one was tough down inside the shaded riverbed with the bright sky above. I decided to try out my new Nic software package HDR. I liked this surreal version default setting.
Don't get used to seeing HDRs like this from me, but I like this one.

Meet Porky, the Easter Porcupine. We found him on Easter morning, our last camping day in Caprock Canyons State Park. He spent all morning in this tree. I wonder how long it took him to get up there.
