I was out photographing the sunset near a bridge, the sunset wasn't that nice. But I could get the duck right where I wanted it.

Here you see the wagon filled with hot cokes. This is going to be cooled instantly, which will produce enormous amounts of steam. Taken from the "Alsumer berg"

Coke plant Duisburg

What you see here is the coke plant in Duisburg, in this plant they produce cokes that are pre-heated and cooled-down with water before the cokes are transported to the furnace of the steel factory. The black tower in the middle produces enormous clouds (vaporized water).

Shipwreck "De Hoop" in the Rhine

End of January 1895, seven vessels including the Elizabeth have suffered a delay because of the frozen Rhine. The ship was loaded with dynamite, a total of 150,000 kg. At the Elizabeth 20 boxes with 866 kg of dynamite sticks exploded.

16 persons were involved in this accident which killed 13 and wounded 3.
Today, only this part of the wreck of the "De Hoop" is visible at very low water. So you can still take a look at this disaster of 115 years ago.

On a beautiful morning I shot this image. It's a view on the german city Emmerich, this is minutes after the first rays of the sun hit the land. This was also the first day I had to scratch the ice of my windshield.

In my town there was fore casted terrible bad weather. So I took my camera and I was waiting for what was coming. Well it wasn't all that bad, but there was some beautiful lightning and I caught one.

After the summer, the wheat fields are being mowed. The grain is taken by the farmer, the stems are rolled together and will be used as straw and all that is left are the stubbles.

We were out photographing and we were walking in the city Xanten, suddenly out of nowhere this leaf fell on the ground and it just lay there. I grabbed my camera and shot the leaf, this is a once in the leaf lifetime opportunity.

346.000 kilos of steel on two multi wheeled cars

Tuesday the 4th of august I ran into a heavy duty transport of a world saver. This 346.000 kilos of steel is going to be used to split Co2 gas from other gazes. All the traffic lights were dismantled to make this transport possible, it was was very huge.

When I am at work in my little studio my Iphone gently fills the room with music. U2 is my favourite band so I thought lets capture this moment. I didn't use a flash I used the light from a small window.

I was out photographing yesterday and I thought I came home with nothing. The light was bad, there were no interesting subjects, I looked but I saw nothing.

At home I downloaded my photos to my computer and I have never thrown away so much shots from one batch.

From what was left I got some inspiration to create this composition of stones and lines.

I photographed this last Saturday. It is a fence which starts along the road and stops under water. In the barbwire there were all kinds of deteriorated things hanging in the wind, this is all filtered out of the water. The fence itself, it's rusty and old it is absolutely in decay.

Yesterday I was in Emmerich am Rhein in Germany and I was trying to capture a beautiful sunset. This couple came down the road only to watch the sunset, I waited for the right moment and captured this moment.
