The Torrey Pines State Reserve has a multitude of trails. This particular hike was a reconnaissance mission to find Broken Hill and the rare Torrey Pines. I did find it ... and I will be back for some future sunset shoots. I continued on the trail that led down to the beach. I was planning on returning back via the beach but when I rounded the corner on this trail, I was greeted by high tide! So back the way I came! Should've fired up that Tides Timetable App!

Has everyone solidified their New Year's Eve plans? We are still plotting!

Pebble Beach is such a beautiful, rugged stretch of coastline. It is near impossible to NOT capture a fence post percher. It was gusty and rainy and I reveled in it (poor Nikon)! And the waves? Monumental! The surfers were obviously thrilled.

So far, this is the only beach fence I've found. This was at sunrise at the Tijuana Estuary. I have some gorgeous sunrise, over the mountain shots, facing in the other direction that I'll post later!!

I'm posting a bird shot in comments. I'm hoping someone can help with identification.

This is a fence shot from fall of last year. I'm missing the autumn color this year in a bad way.

So I thought I'd pull up an autumnal fence I've never posted. How kind of the squirrel to run into my shot when I was focused on the hikers coming down the trail.

Everyone goes to Mormon Row in Grand Teton National Park to photograph the Moulton Barn. I photographed a fence! The haze you see on the horizon is from a fire that was burning in Jackson, Wyoming. Suffice it to say, my barn shots were blech! I arrived in GTNP for sunrise, and the mountains were completely obscured by the smoke. The smoke cleared {for the most part} by the time I got to Mormon Row so I was able to get a decent fence shot.

This is a view of the other side of a fence I previously posted {see below in comments}. I fell in love with this fence, took a ridiculous amount of photos from all angles ... and plotted how I could 'take this fence with me' which would include, of course, the gazebo, the landscaping ... and the sea beyond. OK: not possible ... fine! Win the lottery ... and buy the gazebo and attached beach cottage!!!

Busy doing summer things, so I'm pulling a beach fence from the archives. I know it looks summery, but it was taken back in October. This man walked back and forth in front of me several times. I was lying on my side in the grass and I don't think he even saw me!! LOL!! I'm such a creeper!

I would love to have that gazebo with the whale weather vane! And of course the view from the gazebo is an uninterrupted view of the Pacific Ocean!! I was quite taken with the weathered signage too! In comments a shot of the back porch and a 'mysterious' door in the rock wall ... right on the beach!!

On my drive down to San Diego, I stopped by for a visit with •Sarah P•. We went out on a photographic jaunt and along the way, passed by this fence. Of course we had to stop ... or maybe I made her pull over!

That tree in the field is so California isn't it? The lighting was spectacular with a light mist falling; everything so green and lush. I was fascinated by the bent & twisted wires ... and the perfectly weathered fence post all smothered in lichen.

It was a great day ♫ Hitchin' a Ride ♫ with Sarah P!!

I have a very long day ahead of me. Rachel has duty so she won't be home until 9:00 PM tonight!! What should me and Sammy do? What are your Friday / Weekend plans?

After hanging out with Surfma in Half Moon Bay, I drove through downtown to pick up coffee & muffins for the road. it was a very misty, foggy morning. When I saw the white picket fence backed by a lavender/pink house I couldn't resist. And when I saw the three bulbs hanging from the tree, I knew this was the shot!
