Candy Castle Cake: The Finished Product

This is the cake I made for my cousin's 8th birthday. It is from an old version of a Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cakes book.

The inside of the cake is bright colored marble cake. I made two cakes, one for the base and one for the squares at the top. The towers are ice-cream cones. We used a special egg white frosting. All different kinds of sweets were used including smarties, freckles, marshmellows, musk sticks, jubes, sugar flowers and pink jelly crystals were sprinkled over the whole castle.

I have always had plain bedrooms throughout my life, so I decided to go colorful with this one. I think that this is also the biggest bedroom that I have ever had, with most of the space being taken up by the bed.

All the furniture is white and I picked out red from the bedspread to be the color for the acessories (dream sign, picture frames, alarm clock and candles).
