Unfortunately, two things went wrong with this second shot. At first, we didn't intend to do a second shot at the park, but as you can see, we decided otherwise. Prior to setting up this shot, my camera fell. My heart literally stopped, as it didn't turn on, but all is well now, hopefully. Second, as you can see, the tripod shifted a bit and created a big of luminescent drag. The rocks and stones at the park just does not make a good platform. You can expect Kuro and I to make a return here, we gotta redo this.

A second shot from a previous location, Kuro and I felt that we could have done better. I must say, we did. The first time we shot the wide angle shot, we used Kuro's Canon. This time we used my Nikon, and I must say, Nikon > Canon. All jokes aside, we wanted to be completely parallel with the backing wall, so that the sparks would hit both walls. We also used a new cage to help reduce the chances of a shoot out. Kuro also got hit on the head this time. Now he knows how I felt when a huge chunk landed on my head. The nonsense aside, everyone was fine at the end of the day, and I got a great shot. More to come.

My friend's first attempt at light painting for the night. Shot at a more open aperture than my attempt, and a slower shutter speed. He apparently can make better circles than I can, must be the lower center of gravity (as in he's short!).

We modified the cage a bit, as in Kuro stepped on it, so the sparks weren't really coming out, but it's still viewable. While there were still people tonight at the Empire-Fulton Ferry Park, we made sure that we weren't going to be putting anyone else in harm. There were several other photographers there tonight, so maybe one of you guys will see this on my Flickr. I love how when we took this shot, everyone was either shocked, scared, or just extremely curious. Kuro said that someone took a picture of him while he was spinning it.

Kuro tried to make an orb, but failed miserably. It was pretty funny on my end watching Kuro dance and scream in pain as the flying bits of steel wool hit him. He claimed to have gotten a nice little sting on his arms, back and stomach. There were no marks or holes in his shirt, so I claim shenanigans. This would be his first attempt at an orb, so maybe next time he'll get it down.

Nay, disregard everything I typed before. This, this is a true work of master piece. In my world, this is what an orb looks like!

Kuro's second spin. You can see the trail left by flaming hot steel wool being shot out of the cage rig. It was pretty funny how it stuck to the wall of the Manhattan bridge underpass. The steel wool remained burning on the wall until we killed the heat. Pretty cool effect. As you can still see, Kuro is a lot better at making circles than me.

The sparks hit me on the head and arms! It's not very painful, but it sure was not pleasant. You can actually see when I stopped to check if my hair was on fire, as depicted by the straying trails on the bottom the the circle.. And I use the term "circle" loosely, it's not a very good circle.
