Actually, I haven't touched my Lego collection in the last few months. I know I should finish the 3 or so WIPs I have lying around, but I just can't bring myself to care. So instead, I bought a few MG Gundams (this is my 5th one), simply because I wanted something complex to build to get a few ideas on joints, layering, proportions, and other inspirations for later MOCs. Or maybe I'm just tired of Lego.

Heavyarms is one of the less complex MG's I've built, but it is still time-consuming nonetheless. The cleaning of the nubs, the painting of the missiles (everything else is moulded in color as you see here), and the decaling, are what make the build long. Other than that, it's pretty much a Technic build. If any of you guys are tired of Lego's current trend of simple Hero Factory models, and want something challenging, go for this.

Articulation is fantastic (as expected from a Master Grade), and Bandai kits are of the most durable and solid model kits out there. It's quite toyish, but obviously not meant for rough play (though I highly doubt any Lego builder enjoys tossing and smashing his/her Lego models together in the first place).

Lego really should take a few pages out of Bandai's designers.

Two years working on this thing, on and off. Life has really been kicking my ass, and a lot of pieces are still needed in certain colors or quantities to finish this. It may very well be another year, but until then, I give you this awkwardly posed WIP picture.

I'll probably take some better pictures later, but I don't really care for criticism at the moment since I already know what's wrong with a lot of sections (i.e. upper arms as Toa skulls), so I'm not going to spoil the final product for you guys.

Welcome to Awesome Contest 26, this week brought to you by the Underdark Highlands and a return to non sequitor artwork. This week's theme has been lifted once again from my pile of Lego games, but in a less direct sense. Race 3000 is game featuring a bunch of hovercars going around a circuit and being assholes to each other in a race. We already have the "being assholes to each other" part down, so this week's theme pertains to the race.

Your aim this week should be to build a racer. Whether it's a race car, or a racing ship, or a race horse, or a really fast Kenyan guy, or even just something built in Goes-Fast-Red with flames on the sides. It just has to look fast. And maybe you could build them fast. Like, on time this time. Like, before Sunday, July 24th, ten days from now. Voting will then run until the following weekend. Winner gets the coveted Better Than You title (or the chance to bestow it if Arpy wins) as well as the chance to put a member of their choice on notice.

Additionally, any of our potential members who get in the top three positions in the poll get approved with out the hassle of the debates, because what's more democratic than a straight up poll? Any questions from newcomers about the Awesome Contests can also be posted here. So, get building!

Basically, the last 15 contests or so on our site weren't taken very seriously by anybody, so we're opening it up to guests to add some spice.

So yeah, it goes without saying that it'd be nice if y'all could enter. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them here (but I'd recommend you do it on the main site instead, since I'm not the one actually running the contest and can't answer everything).

Old Podracer... Thing

This is a VERY old picture of that Podracer WIP that I had in my earlier display shelf pictures. Thing is, by the time that I took the pictures of my display, this was already finished. I never took photos of it though since I thought it was "meh" and later cannibalized it for other things.

This MOC (well, at least in this early stage) is exactly 100 pieces, and was built for some holiday Lego Mag contest if I remember correctly.

And no, it can't seat a minifigure. =/ That's just a head in there.

I put this pic up for a contest on the In the Bricks forums. Guests are allowed to enter, BTW.

And yes, inspired by Arpy, etc, etc.

Basically, Leader Starscream in a Gerwalk mode. The arms turned out wonky though, should've clicked the shoulders into the torso like the bot mode.

This figure is fantastic though, although I really should be saving my money for Lego. *sigh*

Well, I procrastinated way too long, but I've finally sobered up this thing. There are still a few pieces like lime green viking horns that I have to get to finish this, but it's near completion.

I haven't been MOCing very much lately though, not because I lack time, but because I haven't been feeling very motivated lately. That bug thing from the last picture was supposed to be my BBC entry, but I never really bothered with it after taking that picture.

With summer coming up, I might finally be able to finish some MOCs.

I've tried many ideas, but I'm not really sure what to do with this. It was an ant at first, then a beetle, then a mantis, then this current mashup of the three. Give me some weird alien bug concept art or other ideas that might work.

Okay, something about this pose is terribly wrong.

I could care less about the Animated character, but I really like this guy, even though he doesn't really have the Movieverse feel. He grew on me much more quickly than Barricade (even though I still have more love for Barricade). He has so much character in both his robot and alt modes.

I hate that rubber claw and the fact that his shoulder armor isn't symmetrical. It looks awkward and hinders the leg poseability.

Now I just need Bludgeon and Mindwipe (with Skystalker to do that amazing chest combo) to satisfy my current TF needs.

My first TF in years. Don't think I've bought anything since Energon.

I managed to get this guy for half off ($15), and he's really grown on me. Amazing vehicle mode, and the robot mode is nice (after I cut off those tabs blocking the hips). Really don't like that left arm.

Even for half off though, I still feel like this was pricey. He may be detailed, but he's not that big.

A solid figure nonetheless. Convinced me to buy more TFs.

Lots of parts (like those awful lower arms) are really iffy and just goes to show you how much I had to rush to get this is.

Also hate the head, but it had to be human-like.

So, I got Stormer 2.0. Good set. Decided to mess around with it and a Ben 10 set. This is what I got.

Yes, even basic Toamods will look good from now one once they integrate the basics of the new Hero Factory System.

Oh, and he has a flamethrower, and those canisters on his back filter in combustible particles to mix together. Simply because a flamethrower is better than a slush shooter.
