I am sitting at the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam an want to share a photo with you that I took last week when I was on a sailing trip. This time the photo has been taken with my IPhone 3GS. One can surely complain about the quality of the image but I think the motive stands for itself.

The shot has been taken whilst the Baltic Sea was quite wild. The wind blew up to 6 wind forces.
When I see this photo a song always comes to mind! Listen to it if you like. It is a Post Rock Song!

So far I will be on the road the days and weeks to come!

Whoa it really has been a while since I was on at Flickr. So much stuff to do these days besides taking pictures and editing. I wasn’t even able to view your awesome streams. I will try to do this hmm the days to come :)

How is everybody of you doing?

The photo was taken in Kiel. It was this amazing architecture that captured my eyes immediately. I think you know why. The architect really had a blast with all these lines and parallels.
@ To2Camba i haven’t forgotten about your testamonial. You will surely get it!

Sailing the World’s Oceans – Reprise

Let’s face the facts, the boat is not an Ocean Race boat and the wind was nearly gone but still it was more than fun to let the boat float across the ocean. I wonder how hard it is to get a good shot of the sailing trip.
There are two major problems, the first is that you nearly have no reds or yellows in the picture. Basically there are only blues and whites what makes the photo quite “cold” and not warm… Second it is really hard to get good compositions with a 1.5 crop at my D90. The shot you see here was done with my 12-24 Tokina and there are still a lot of details missing.
However, I tried to overdo the contrast here to get the impression of a rough sea. I think it worked out quite well.
This shot is dedicated to everyone who asked for a photo from my trip…
