It has been a while since I have been in Tokyo but I definitely plan to come back, soon! Some days ago my Japanese exchange student friends left and I am really sad about it.

I actually watched the movie: LOST IN TRANSLATION two times just because of the good old times… If you don’t know it yet, watch it. It is a strange but really awesome movie.

This shot is from the top of the government building. I did some other photos from the same location. You can see them in the comment section.

As I am browsing through your Flickr streams I see that the Tokyo Sky Tree is close to be finished. I think it is going to be the highest building in Tokyo so I really have to come back soon, to bring you some new and fresh Tokyo shots from above.

The shot you see here has been taken shortly after the blue hour. One can still see enough light to recognize the buildings. It is just enough light to get a nice gradient between the light coming from the buildings and the buildings themselves.
I think the mood of the photo is pretty awesome!

Hit "L" for a nice look

Hi everyone!

How are you lately? Today I post a shot that I have taken in Yokohama quite a while ago. The shot was done from the legendary Landmark Tower. I really love the glowing streets and the melting water effect. When I see this image I really wish to go back one day!
Besides I wish to go back because this image has been taken with my old Canon Eos d350/ EOS Digital Rebel XT/ EOS Kiss Digital N depending on where you live. Also a partly broken kit lens was mounted. This is the reason why the Image looks a bit crappy but besides I am amazed that HDR photo can even look good with this stone Age camera… :D

If you have some minutes Today I really would like to introduce a photographer I recently found on the internet who is more than worth being mentioned! His name is Terje Sørgjerd. He does really professional HDR Videos. I recommend watching “Aurora” and “The Mountain”. I am more than sure you haven’t seen something like this before! Check him out!!!

Now, as you have seen the Video you can imagine what happened 20 seconds after I took this shot… the Anthill began to move! Actually if you look at my profile page you will find this sentence first:”

Somewhere in the midst of a city covered by people like the ground of an anthill you can see a face that looks different.” Now you know where I have this from!
I love this place and hope to come back one day!

So far I saw a lot of good Photos on your Streams lately. Even if I am not always able to comment I am aware of all the great arts you post. I am really thankful to see it and you can’t believe how inspired I am by your photos!

Dazzling Heights of Tokyo

Allright. I promised it. Today I will do some tech talk.

The photos below can only be viewed if you are a contact here on Flickr. I have to do it because otherwise users who come across my channel will see the non processed images you are able to see. I recommend to download the single shots and look at them in full size. You can see the details better then!

So far over here in Germany We have a great Summer… I am really getting a lot of sun even though there is a lot of work at the University. I am smart :) I work outside or at the local lake.

How do you pass these hot hot days? Are you sitting inside with your air cooling on or do you sit next to your pool/ Lake/ river with a cocktail in you Hand? Let me know!

Hey friends. I saw a lot of cool photos on your stream the last days. Thanks for showing them, they are great. I am really sad that time is so short and precious to me, I would like to share more and more photos with you.

This is a shot I took at the Hannover Messe. It is the skywalk. It took me long to find the right angle and exposure times but I had a lot of fun whilst trying it.

Who of you is enjoying the spring like me? I really don’t want to turn on my computer :)

Some days ago I wrote that I had a shooting with a Band called Foryoumydear. It is actually my Band. Look how the first results are.
I used the sunlight from the left and a Strobo from the right. I like this warm feeling.

Just did my workout at the gym. Believe me it is hard to write on the keyboard :) everything hurts. But it does feel awesome. Do you know this feeling. Your body hurts because you really gave everything but you think yeahh yeahh, that is so great? I feel like this right now.
Today’s photo is another Temple or Pagoda spotted in Kyoto. There are so many that I don’t even know the name :). But to be honest I am really bad at remembering places and names so maybe I don’t know it because I was to much in love with shooting!

Yesturday I was shooting with a Band called Foryoumydear. I used my new Metz 58 AF and I think it was great… I will upload a shot someday this week.

A lot of stuff is going on at my stream these days. Thanks a lot. If you added me as a friend I will try to comment your photos. But please be patient with me. I am close to one thousand friends and it is sometimes really hard to remember 100 new names in a week. So if I don’t remember you please don’t take it personal.

In today’s Photo are some of the gates you can find in Kyoto. Yeah only some of them. There are so many. You can walk up a hill and all the way you’ll find these gates. Definitely a place to go to if you ever come around!

I still work at my tutorial but believe me it is so time consuming.

It has been some days till my last post. I work on some crazy prototype thing in my University. It is kind of time consuming but fun. The bad thing: not so much time for editing.
Anyway, that one morning I awoke, stood up, started my flickr and saw 1500 views at my account. Wooooow so cool! Normally when I start my day I have approximately 400-500 views but this I knew something has happened. This something was Magic Water City being at Explore page ranked #4…

My flickr friends often ask me dude how do you get so many people view your stream daily. I answered well I don’t know, maybe luck… I thought about this today when I was attending a really really boring lecture about control techniques.
I finally got an answer how I get so many people to view my page, comment and fave them. It is you!!! Just because of you being my friends, being nice, spreading the word, encouraging and everything else you do for me this is happening. It is not that my photos are so cool because really everyone of you can take these shots. I do not use a super professional camera nor do I use some crazy outer space programs for processing. In other words there is no difference between you and me. The only difference is having you as such a cool friend who supports me.

That is why I want to thank you as you are reading this. Thanks for supporting and sharing your precious time with me!

As I did my easter campaign a lot of people posted awesome photos at my stream. Again thanks for posting them. Through this campaign some really nice ideas came in my mind. I think you will be really excited when I present them. Also I did not forget about my plan to do an HDR tutorial for those who want to learn the technique I use. I hope to be able to start with this project in the near future. <b<You can expect a lot!

---->For those who ask and want to take the same: Taken at St. Luke´s Tower, Tokyo

The cool thing about Tokyo is that it was built at the coast. So you are able to find some cool places where you can sit, plug in your I pod and just let thought strive. That’s what I did here! I just sat there for two hours and thought about how great life is. After these two hours I took a picture ;) of course.

In the back you can see the Odaiba bridge which is a subject of various posts before!
As Tokyo is a very expensive city this is by the way a cool secret hint. You don’t have to pay to go at this observation deck! Thumbs up Tokyo!

Besides this you might wonder why I haven’t posted the last days… Well it is not that I don’t have enough cool photos :) but it is because of a lack of time. I should get someone to fix my university stuff whilst I do the things I like!

Who want’s to write my mechatronics exams? I pay 7 € per hour ;)

Today’s photo is another shot of the Odaiba Bridge which is located in Japans beautiful capital called Tokyo.
I really tried everything to get rid of this grey feeling but is is just not possible. The colors of the water and the sky are grey… I am really sad about this :(

Todays photo was taken in Kyoto. It is one of the thousand shrines you can find there. I thought this one though is a very beautiful shrine. Moreover the sky and the green threes fit right in! Do you see the door on the right? Haha how I would have loved to go into that door… But I wasn’t allowed :(

Do you know the movie Hero starring Jet Lie? The movie is dealing a lot with colors which symbolize different times in Chinese politics. They also symbolize the 4 seasons… When I think of autumn I always see the Japanese orange red trees…

Ohh lala this was the evening we left Kyoto, what a perfect way to say goodbye to me and my friends? A summer breeze, nice sunbeam breaking through the leafs of the trees and the mountains in the background, that by the way remind me of Jurassic Park. Do you know that scene where the helicopter approaches the island and you see these blurred mountains of the killer island? Haha completely different to the feeling we had this evening!

Hey flickr friends, I wish all of you a happy Easter. This photo is dedicated to each of you!
When I took this photo I was thinking what is the purpose of the thing we call easter. Is it searching for Eggs or is it something else? And I decided yes it is about searching but maybe searching something else.

It is about searching God and searching for inner peace. If you are like me you are working in every minute without resting for a second. I can only encourage you to search and ask if there is a God outside there… I know a lot of people don’t like the imagination of a God sitting there with his long white beard being rude to mankind… Haha but that’s not what I am talking about.

Ask him. I am sure he will answer! If not you only lost a minute of your life. If you really get an answer your life will dramatically change!
That’s my Sunday sermon! :)
