Right after my arrival at night and having had my troubles with all the bargains, I stood before this awesome Hotel. It was my first day in China ever and I was soo amazed about the huge buildings you find everywhere.

I put out some old shots from which I never knew if they are worth putting online. Something like a little test. Next week I will do a color key week. I already processed some images like zebras, nail color stuff and stairs. Someone want’s to participate? Color keys are really hard to process because you need to cut and find a good way to deal with the colors to set highlights.

Thank you all for commenting and saying hi as I returned to Flickr yesterday. I know it has been a while. So it is good to meet all of you again, too.
This shot is one of my Beijing shots. It is really hard to get a good shot over there due to the massive smog. Everything is gray and you cannot see the sky. That’s why I added some fake rain as I have already done it at this Beijing shot: www.flickr.com/photos/sprengben/3931265762/

Actually this is still one of my top 5 shots. There is so much detail to find in it.
Someone did a really good shot recently? Tell me I will come and comment!

Whoa it really has been a while since I was on at Flickr. So much stuff to do these days besides taking pictures and editing. I wasn’t even able to view your awesome streams. I will try to do this hmm the days to come :)

How is everybody of you doing?

The photo was taken in Kiel. It was this amazing architecture that captured my eyes immediately. I think you know why. The architect really had a blast with all these lines and parallels.
@ To2Camba i haven’t forgotten about your testamonial. You will surely get it!

Are you interested in soccer? Maybe not as most photographers are more in creative stuff than sports…
But I am kind of into soccer and I am really happy germany did 4 goals and shot Australia back to their continent :). Today Japan will play and I will definitely wear my Japan shirt at University!

Today there is no sailing photo but an old shot of Yokohama Funpark.
This is a shot taken with my good old EOS350. I am so happy with Nikon now but as the 350D was my first real digital camera I owe all my skills to this camera.
What you see on this photo looks kind of cool but if you sit inside of the wheel you know that it isn’t cool for some people to feel the Centripetal force. Maybe it is better than a five timed Helix Roller Coaster but still some people don’t hummm LIKE it :)

Sailing the World’s Oceans – Reprise

Let’s face the facts, the boat is not an Ocean Race boat and the wind was nearly gone but still it was more than fun to let the boat float across the ocean. I wonder how hard it is to get a good shot of the sailing trip.
There are two major problems, the first is that you nearly have no reds or yellows in the picture. Basically there are only blues and whites what makes the photo quite “cold” and not warm… Second it is really hard to get good compositions with a 1.5 crop at my D90. The shot you see here was done with my 12-24 Tokina and there are still a lot of details missing.
However, I tried to overdo the contrast here to get the impression of a rough sea. I think it worked out quite well.
This shot is dedicated to everyone who asked for a photo from my trip…

I postulate this week is symmetry week. Okay, you don’t have to participate but if you want to post your symmetry shots at your stream, I will review then. I think symmetry is really hard to handle.

Hey friends. I saw a lot of cool photos on your stream the last days. Thanks for showing them, they are great. I am really sad that time is so short and precious to me, I would like to share more and more photos with you.

This is a shot I took at the Hannover Messe. It is the skywalk. It took me long to find the right angle and exposure times but I had a lot of fun whilst trying it.

Just did my workout at the gym. Believe me it is hard to write on the keyboard :) everything hurts. But it does feel awesome. Do you know this feeling. Your body hurts because you really gave everything but you think yeahh yeahh, that is so great? I feel like this right now.
Today’s photo is another Temple or Pagoda spotted in Kyoto. There are so many that I don’t even know the name :). But to be honest I am really bad at remembering places and names so maybe I don’t know it because I was to much in love with shooting!

Yesturday I was shooting with a Band called Foryoumydear. I used my new Metz 58 AF and I think it was great… I will upload a shot someday this week.

A lot of stuff is going on at my stream these days. Thanks a lot. If you added me as a friend I will try to comment your photos. But please be patient with me. I am close to one thousand friends and it is sometimes really hard to remember 100 new names in a week. So if I don’t remember you please don’t take it personal.

In today’s Photo are some of the gates you can find in Kyoto. Yeah only some of them. There are so many. You can walk up a hill and all the way you’ll find these gates. Definitely a place to go to if you ever come around!

I still work at my tutorial but believe me it is so time consuming.

It has been some days till my last post. I work on some crazy prototype thing in my University. It is kind of time consuming but fun. The bad thing: not so much time for editing.
Anyway, that one morning I awoke, stood up, started my flickr and saw 1500 views at my account. Wooooow so cool! Normally when I start my day I have approximately 400-500 views but this I knew something has happened. This something was Magic Water City being at Explore page ranked #4…

My flickr friends often ask me dude how do you get so many people view your stream daily. I answered well I don’t know, maybe luck… I thought about this today when I was attending a really really boring lecture about control techniques.
I finally got an answer how I get so many people to view my page, comment and fave them. It is you!!! Just because of you being my friends, being nice, spreading the word, encouraging and everything else you do for me this is happening. It is not that my photos are so cool because really everyone of you can take these shots. I do not use a super professional camera nor do I use some crazy outer space programs for processing. In other words there is no difference between you and me. The only difference is having you as such a cool friend who supports me.

That is why I want to thank you as you are reading this. Thanks for supporting and sharing your precious time with me!

As I did my easter campaign a lot of people posted awesome photos at my stream. Again thanks for posting them. Through this campaign some really nice ideas came in my mind. I think you will be really excited when I present them. Also I did not forget about my plan to do an HDR tutorial for those who want to learn the technique I use. I hope to be able to start with this project in the near future. <b<You can expect a lot!

---->For those who ask and want to take the same: Taken at St. Luke´s Tower, Tokyo

The cool thing about Tokyo is that it was built at the coast. So you are able to find some cool places where you can sit, plug in your I pod and just let thought strive. That’s what I did here! I just sat there for two hours and thought about how great life is. After these two hours I took a picture ;) of course.

In the back you can see the Odaiba bridge which is a subject of various posts before!
As Tokyo is a very expensive city this is by the way a cool secret hint. You don’t have to pay to go at this observation deck! Thumbs up Tokyo!

Besides this you might wonder why I haven’t posted the last days… Well it is not that I don’t have enough cool photos :) but it is because of a lack of time. I should get someone to fix my university stuff whilst I do the things I like!

Who want’s to write my mechatronics exams? I pay 7 € per hour ;)

Today’s photo is another shot of the Odaiba Bridge which is located in Japans beautiful capital called Tokyo.
I really tried everything to get rid of this grey feeling but is is just not possible. The colors of the water and the sky are grey… I am really sad about this :(

Dude, be sure you will have fun there.
If you don’t know what to do in the first weeks maybe visit this spot. It is for free and you can check out some of the cool places where you definitely want to be. Combine your trip with a visit of Harajuku, it is really close.

Hey everybody. Today’s photo is from the top of Kyoto’s beautiful mountains. Yes it is the Kyoto where the Kyoto protocol was born.

If I look at the beauty of Kyoto I honestly wish that all countries of the world would sign this contract. In the future we still need places like these.
I like the awesome Pagoda in the middle of the Photo, in my eyes it fits perfect, so whoever built it, congratulations!

Chikka day in Kyoto. OMG I was really surprised to see this Mangalike girls in real life… I don’t know what their mission was, but I would like to know it so badly :)

My guess is they are out for a girls day doing some shopping action… But I am just guessing.

Ohh lala this was the evening we left Kyoto, what a perfect way to say goodbye to me and my friends? A summer breeze, nice sunbeam breaking through the leafs of the trees and the mountains in the background, that by the way remind me of Jurassic Park. Do you know that scene where the helicopter approaches the island and you see these blurred mountains of the killer island? Haha completely different to the feeling we had this evening!

How is every one of my flickr friends today? Do you feel comfortable or do you have trouble finding the perfect shot?

Hey everybody. Today’s photo is an old one of Odaiba I digged out. I thought it is quite interesting because of the bridge. Do you see that it is not parallel to the water? When you look from a different angle this can’t be seen. Pretty cool, as I think.

Also these ships (with the red lights on it) are party ships. That’s such a cool system. You pay some money and rent the ship for two hours or the whole evening.
