I just acquired Topaz Denoise and B&W plugins and am climbing a steep learning curve. These are the first examples of my learning.

1961 B&W prints scanned at 200 dpi and adjusted with Topaz Denoise and B&W toning in PSE 9.0

The hills behind Masada are actually the upper edge of a rift valley. With the setting sun, the dramatic topography looks even more dramatic.

These prints are my first travel photos, circa July 1961 taken with a Kodak Brownie Holiday camera. My family and I spent about 3 weeks in California and south-western US.

The prints have been scanned at 200 dpi and adjusted in PS Elements 8 using Auto Levels and Shadows and Highlights.

This two-image panorama does not do justice to the vastness of this man-made structure. An outstanding example of engineering and Art Deco design in a magnificent desert setting.
