A Nice Leisurely Lunch

To finish off a lovely afternoon of shopping Linda and I stopped by a nice little Italian place I know for a light bite and some good red wine. It really was a fitting end to a wonderfully girly day out.

In our never ending quest for perfect make up Linda and I popped into the Mac store for some advice from the helpful girls in there. Linda wanted some better brushes for her eye shadows and ended up with three.

Just had a nice lunch with Denise and I still had time for a glass of wine and more chat before returning to my usual grey world if you get my drift. It was a great afternoon in sparkling company and, as usual, far too short. But hey there will be another time soon.

Wasn't it Alison Moyet who sang this song oh no she sang All Cried Out. Anyway no tears here just lots of empty plates on this table which rightly suggests how good this place is. In fact the food is so good that it seems Joanna is more interested in it than posing for the camera which says something as we know how difficult it is for a tgirl to turn away from prising lenses.

I'm never happier than when I'm out with girlfriends. Tonight I am in my office look of a tailored black skirt and crisp white blouse so in my head I have just left work and met up with friends to wind down. I feel relaxed and definately happy as I pose with Rebecca who is giving us one of her famous pouts.

Another nice group photo with lovely friends. Rebecca to my right is a lady I had not seen for some months, Irene and Sue next to me on my left are regular visitors to the Verge. Then there is Ange who was visiting from the Isle of Wight and at the end was Joanne who was up in town from the West country. I had not seen Joanne for two years so as soon as she told me she would be in town we just had to meet up.

For those of you old enough to remember Sunday Night At The Palladium you will recall how the show started with the tiller girl dancers high kicking in a long line. I was very young at the time but I so wanted to have lovely long legs like theirs and to be wearing those lovely sparkly outfits and nylons. Pippa is far too young to remember the programme but it has not stopped her practising.

Hadn't seen Gillian for months so we had plenty to catch up on this evening. Gillian is one of the first girls I ventured out with and the first time would have been back in 2009, she was great fun then and is great fun now.

I recently connected with Suzi here on flickr and we were soon talking about meeting up and so, before we knew it, here we are sat in the Verge enjoying a drink before going out for dinner. This was Suzi's first proper venture out and I hope it will not be long before our paths cross again.

Doesn't Carla look sexy in her Charlie's Angels jump suit, I'd like to think she was flanked by the other two angels but unfortunately I don't think Denise and I quite make the grade. It is safe to say that neither of us are expecting to receive calls from Hollywood producers any time soon.

This place has got to be one of the most beautiful restaurants in London and although this picture does show you some of the wonderful decor it does not do the place justice. The staff are lovely too and the manager (in the background) has just given us a bottle of champagne on the house to celebrate Sally's birthday.

After being warmed up by a lovely curry we eventually had to leave the restaurant and brave the chilling winter wind. I have to say though that the cold air blowing around my tights did feel absolutely wonderful,the things we girls have to endure just to show our legs off.

Three lovely young girls were at the table next to us and we had a great time chatting to them, I think two were from Canada. As is the case we just had to have a picture which they were only too pleased to accomodate us with; just felt a bit sorry for the guy dining alone in the corner.

During our Sunday stroll around Covent Garden we stumbled across this nice pub and it seemed so rude to walk past it. I succumbed (yet again) to a glass of red however Irene was much better behaved and settled for a cup of coffee, just wish I had her will power.

My good friend Sue Richmond recently organised a lovely Sunday lunch gathering where I met old faces and new in a nice pub on Cambridge Circus. After I relaxed and leisurely lunch some of us enjoyed a nice stroll around nearby Covent Garden.

It is always so nice to eventually meet someone you feel you have known for some years and Lucy was everything I expected her to be and more. Three years ago Lucy gave me my first two dresses which was very sweet of her and this evening she gave me some lovely compliments which was even sweeter. Lucy darling you are a wonderful lady and you have a wonderfully wicked sense of humour too.

Had a great girls night out recently which started with meeting Denise in the Verge for some Pinot before grabbing a taxi for Soho where we were to meet up with Lucy Hamilton. I've known Lucy through flickr for a few years but we had never met up so I am quite excited about this and thought I would wear my nice Autograph dress for the occasion.
