Orgue Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg

Accroché en nid d'hirondelle du côté nord de la deuxième travée de la nef, l'instrument attire l'attention par son Buffet polychrome, mêlant le rouge, le vert, le bleu et les dorures. Il y a un Positif de dos, accroché à une petite tribune. Celle-ci est terminée par un pendentif richement orné, flanqué de deux célèbres automates : le Héraut et le Bretzelmann. A l'autre extrémité, les couronnements de son sommet se perdent dans les hauteurs, sous la voûte.

La construction de l'instrument neuf fut confiée à Alfred KERN, qui savait que ce serait l'un de ses derniers travaux d'importance (après la Cathédrale, il supervisa encore la restauration de l'orgue Friedrich RING de Ribeauvillé, et ce fut son dernier travail). Il y mit toute sa compétence et toute sa rigueur. Si, à St-Thomas, il s'agissait d'une Restauration, il fut au contraire laissé une grand liberté à Kern pour la construction de l'orgue de la cathédrale.

Robert PFRIMMER, alors Maître de Chapelle, raconte à quel point le facteur restait patient, impassible et méticuleux, bien que la date de l'inauguration approchait. Le facteur travaillait hors du temps dans un Buffet qui était sorti du fond des âges. Cela reste le dernier orgue que l'on puisse réellement attribuer à Alfred KERN. Son fils Daniel prit sa suite à la tête de l'entreprise, qui a récemment fusionné avec l'autre Maison (Gaston) KERN.

Le grand-orgue Kern de la cathédrale joua pour la première fois à la Pentecôte 1981. Il fut inauguré par Gaston LITAIZE, dont le programme allait de Titelouze à Messiaen et Litaize.

Der Bertoldsbrunnen ist ein Denkmal in der Altstadt von Freiburg im Breisgau. Er befindet sich auf der gleichnamigen Kreuzung der Salz- und der Bertoldstraße mit der Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Der Brunnen ist einer der zentralsten Punkte der Stadt. An ihm befindet sich eine Haltestelle, an der alle vier Straßenbahnlinien der Freiburger Verkehrs AG halten.
