Here I am holding two of what I like to call my "Proof of Road Trip Receipts." The States of Oregon and Washington, however, have different names for them. They choose to call these a "Uniform Citation and Complaint" and "Notice of Traffic Infraction," respectively.

What's a road trip without a speeding ticket or two?

I ended up staying for longer than I had planned in Oly, so I had to shoot straight down I-5 after a brief jaunt down 101. After the second, 12.5 hour, 636 mile final day - I made it home.

On the bike I've got:
> Sleeping Bag
> Sleeping Pad
> Tent
> Saddle Bags with: clothes, rain gear, food, water, shoes, and misc motorcycle stuff.
> Tank Bag holding: maps, camera, flashlight, notebook and gum.

After a few hours riding with all the gear I was able to get used to the new weight distribution and really carve up some of the roads. All-in-all it was an amazing trip and I didn't have any really "hairy" moments or close calls.

Jake had jumped across the span to help Ben set the log, but wasn't about to cross the newly christened "bridge." He chose to take the water route back.

The bridge was precarious at best, and Ben was the only one crazy enough to cross it. He crossed it about a half dozen times, but we weren't convinced.

The mountain we were supposed to hike was on the other side of this bridge, but when we got there the bridge was washed out. You can't see it here, but that trench goes down about 30 feet into the cold water, and there is no way back up if you fall.

Ben decided he NEEDED to build a bridge across the gap, so he, Jake and I got a log and set about making it happen. Ben jumped the gap to help lay the log.

You can see Adam trying with equal effort to help Ben set the log and talk him out of the whole thing.

Left to Right thats Ryan, Ben (aka Boonji), Jake, and Adam. Mazzie's there in the front, and she likes getting her butt scratched/spanked, so I started calling her a Mazzocist. (har har... get it?)

YEY! Hello Olympia!!

MoMo (Jake's friend) was nice enough to feed me along with all the Oly Salvage workers who came over for a nice home-cooked lunch. Then I dried off and Jake took me on a personalized tour of Olympia. Its a really nice, small town where everyone knows most everyone else. Lots of blackberry's everywhere, too.

Day 4 was wet and cold. I jumped on I-5, raced up to Olympia, and got rained on pretty much the whole way. I was lucky with the weather for the most of the trip up until this point, so I really can't complain.

I wandered too close to civilization and couldn't find a place to camp. This is room 41 at the Snooze Inn (real name) in Wilsonville, OR. Yes, I cheated... I'll admit it.
