Capitol Reef Rocks... National Park UT

In between Workshops I got to do some shooting for myself. Took off from Moab and headed to Capitol Reef National Park. Made a very cool stop on the way... that shot to come soon!
This was my first visit to Capitol Reef and it was amazing. Helped to have nice weather during my stay
This was just a quick hand held shot, I snagged while on my way in to the park.

Rocks in all sense of the word!!! Noun & Verb ;-)

After a whirlwind of workshop instruction in the Southwest (UT and AZ), my talented co-worker, Scott Donschikowski and myself, took the long was home, via HWY395.
First stop was a doozy... Patriarch grove in the ancient bristlecone forrest. Located outside of Lone Pine, CA the bristlecone forrest stretches into the far reaches of the mountain range.
Patriarch grove is at the "summit" at over 11,000 feet.
We were the only ones there, along with some patches of snow & lot's of stars.
We painstakingly chose our subject amongst the masses.
Lanters in hand we set up our tri-pods and the light show began.
Here is my Fave from the evening.

This past week we had some fantastic clouds in Northern California.
Saturday looked like it could be a killer sunset.

Last night I headed over to the lake to shoot. The clouds we've had lately have really been creating incredible skies.
Also, don't want folks to get tired of all my Maui shots (still lot's more to come ;)

I have been so busy... it's no fun at all.
Have not done much shooting, except for Weddings & Doggie Portraits :)
I've kind of posted out of order. The last post was taken after this shot! ;)
Sorry for not commenting on photos for a few days. Hopefully I'll have more flickr time in the coming month.

So I'm back... oh how I've missed all my flickr'ites :)
I'm sure there have been a lot of great posts while I've been away. Will do my best to visit photostreams, but bare with me, as I'm sill very busy.
Been able to make it over to the lake right near my house, for some epic sunset colors. This was Wed. evening & the sky was so amazing! It was all a glow with Red's, Orange's & Purple's, truly incredible.

Today I got up earlier than usual. It was still dark out, yet I could see that the Sunrise was going to be special.

Despite our day to day activities, weather they are enjoyable or filled with conflict & drama. One thing you can always count on is the Sun rising & then later setting. Most of the time this action provides us with a brilliant show.
If we chose to take the time & watch.

Everyday upon rising, we have the ability to chose how we will feel that day. Happy, sad, joyful, or somber.
Choose Happy, as often as possible. Technically, it's possible every day =)

Yes, another shot from the lake near my house. Shortly after this amazing sunrise, the clouds & light rain moved in. Folks who slept in had no idea just how brilliant the start of this day was.

I got up early this am to meet my freind out at the lake for a morning run. I decided to go a little earlier & catch the sunrise. a large bird flew in front of me at the perfect time!
What a great way to start the day.
