This is the Catholic cemetery at San Juan Baptiste church in La Garita Colorado.
I was struck by this section, where there were these crude handmade stones.
I did read that in 1918 the influenza epidemic killed half the town and they were buried in a mass grave.
I am wondering if these stones have something to do with that.
There were no names or dates on these stones, that I could see.

It is said that Mr Reed was a Chicago newspaperman who moved to Colorado and settled in the Colorado Springs area during the Cripple Creek Gold Rush of 1891. The memorial and crypt were transported to Mount Olivet from Italy in 1923 at a total cost of $250,000. The Mausoleum is built of white marble, delicate carvings and ornate sculpture. It is adorned with statues and stained glass. It is claimed that Mr. Reed's wealth at the time of his death was twenty million dollars. Section 15, Block 1
