A typical shot of Oxbow Bend at 7:30 AM. The week we were here there was a fire, so the air was filled with smoke, so you can see the tinge of it both in the sky and in the reflection.

This was a real mule train, not a tourist ride. We were out taking photos of a river on the other side of the road, when this mule train came up and unloaded supplies. What I really loved was capturing this with that background! I felt like I was on the set of an old western film. All that was missing was the music from Bonanza!!

Yellowstone Bison

I love Yellowstone National Park. It gives me a little bit of feel for the old West, and how it must have been when the buffalo (bison) roamed.

I had my speed set high in case they started to run. I caught a great series of one rolling in the dirt, greater if I had had the sense to use the video! So wanted to be prepared. But these guys just stood there enjoying the tourists gawking at them and taking their photos.

Beautiful Big Horns roam the area in Kootenay Plains, Alberta. On a tour with Darwin Wiggett (amazing Canadian Photographer), we encountered several of these sheep.

Just outside of the town of Banff, we saw people ice skating on a portion of this pond. By the time we got down there, the people had left, but I found the scene to be so peaceful. Cold and icy, but beautiful.
