The hawks are back! well, I guess they've been around for a while, but now that I commute via alewife, instead of driving in, I only occasionally catch one of these circling, using the long lens from the top of the parking garage - but I was on my way to dinner and had the top down when I got to that traffic light, and noticed the Usual Crowd with scopes and cameras :-) I guess these are a later set from the original parents, rather than that generation reusing their parents nest?

The hawk-nest is still there, but noone is home. (Probably hanging out closer to Fresh Pond, in this weather.)

Apparently the storms and high winds this weekend were sufficient inspiration - by Monday, all three chicks had flown.

The oldest hawk chick has found a place to hang out - on the opposite corrner of the same building. I actually think a version of this shot would be good logo for a security company :-)
