Original design on 12"x12" thick canvas. This came about very organically......using up left over paints so they wouldn't dry out I just wash and smeared the background. I then stenciled the design on and knew it needed a figure dancing...with white paint I made the entire body outline and then filled in from there.
The costume and look are nothing truly authentic, I just wanted an ethnic feel.
I was influenced by the song Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire

Original design painted on 12"x12" thick canvas. I think it's one of my favorite pieces now. The colors are vibrant and happy and yet the look on her face is serene and calm. I wish I'd painted it even bigger.

For some reason titles are not coming to me, perhaps the paintings are telling me to let them speak for themselves.

Kadence does her high wire act with her assistant Truman Turtle. She plays the tambourine and he sings as she does her ballet steps across the rope..

Mr. Barnaby is the vendor who sells cupcakes and ice cream cones as he wanders the Faire with his cart. Every once in a while he will stop and play his small guitar and sing opera.
