I have still been making a few tweaks to the latest Digital Light Wand. But I think I have just about completed all the tweaking I plan to do at this time. It is now fully menu driven and adjustments can be made in the field for Brightness, Initial Delay, Frame Delay, Dual Strip Interlacing timing, Repeats, and Repeat delay.
The adjustments are made through an LCD keypad and the image is selectible from an SD thanks to iso-mick!

I received a new RGB LED light strip that has 52 LEDs per meter instead of the standard 32 LEDs per meter that I have used in the past. This new strip is mounted in a dual strip/offset setup along with coding to handle the interlace timing, here is the result. This DLW is a meter and half in length with 156 LEDs in that space.

This is another shot of Yoda to be able to see the comparison between the older strip with 96 LEDs compared to the 156 LEDs on this setup.

I have the Interlace issue worked out now. Totally rewrote the code to control the strips individually and allow making addustments to interlacing on the fly.

You can see the drastic difference between the left and right objects in the photo on the top left. The left object has the interlacing adjusted and the right object is with no interlacing adjustments.

I finally feel like I am getting some creativity flowing through my bones again! I was pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Working on a higher resolution version of the Digital Light Wand in the process of it all. This was a shot thrown in with my testing. Still working out some interlacing issues but getting there. :-)

Here are some more test images using the LPD8806 Digital Light Wand. This one specifically is a 2-meter, 64 LED strip. I have a higher resolution one in the works and I will also add a diffuser to to it to help eliminate the sharp points of light from the LEDs and help spread the light out a little more.

Here is the same shot taken with two different cameras. The top photo was taken with a Nikon D700 Digital SLR Camera with a 50mm lens, the bottom photo was taken with a Voitlander VSL 3E 35mm Film Camera, also with a 50mm Lens. (Fujifilm 200)

Note: The Nikon had settings adjusted for custom white balance and also the saturation levels were bumped up.

Things are FINALLY coming together on the job front! I had a phone call today on a job with the news that I have been hoping to get! The perfect job for me! I am super stoked about it and can't wait to get started. This is the same job that I had the interview with a month ago! :-)

The lights from my mother's house totally saturated the Mesquite trees across the street when I took this shot with the center of the Milky Way behind them. I am really not sure what caused the brown shadows in the shot and I really didn't like it at first, but it has grown on me a bit. :-)

I feel like John Denver saying that! ;-) One of my favorite singers by the way... The last time I saw him was on stage in a very small venue in Fort Worth just a few weeks before he died in his plane. :-\ One of my favorite songs of his is Shanghai Breezes. :-) And speaking of that song... I wanted to take a moment to wish a special friend of mine a very Happy Birthday! :-) I hope it was a good one for you! :-)
