REPOST - Update- She came to live with us four years ago as a tiny six weeks old kitten. Now she rules the roost. She had been dumped on the side of a road in Dublin and found by a kind person who brought her to the local vet. This was just at the time we were looking for a kitten. So we brought her home and rather foolishly let her loose in our kitchen where she promptly hid under the dishwasher and we couldn't get her out . Eventually we got help from the DSPCA. All is well now, though. She is happy and much loved in her new home.

These duckling siblings were led down this tiny weir on the River Dodder in Dublin by their mother who then swam upstream again and tried to get them to climb the weir....
Note how one of the ducklings is so much bigger than the others. It must be from an earlier brood, or perhaps adopted by the mallard mother.

I was attracted to the sun shining through this tulip in St Stephen's Green. I changed it to Lightroom's Colour Creative Split Tone #4 because the background colours detracted from its beauty.

I was watching this heron fishing in the River Dodder when it suddenly took off. I fired off about 10 shots and they all looked on the LCD as if they were in focus. Sadly when I got home I found that this one (cropped) was the only one that was crisp. The one below (not cropped) looks fine until you open it in the original size - then you will see it is blurred.

This was taken on the second morning I got up early to photograph the sunrise . . . only there was thick fog out to sea and the sun was not visible. So I went to the roof of a Marbella shopping plaza overlooking the beach (left) and took this one. Taken on a tripod and using the two-second timer as my wireless remote control had frozen and was unuseable.

The colour has been adjusted in Lightroom 3.6.
