Lake Louise rests at the bottom of a glacial valley and gets its beautiful turquoise color from sediment trapped in the water that runs into the lake from the melting snow.

I thought this particular mountain was amazing due to it's shape and all the different patterns of color. I saw this dead tree sticking out over the lake pointing towards the peak of the mountain and thought it would be a cool shot.

This is a 3 exposure HDR. I tried exposure fusion at first, but this one looked much better as an HDR.
I took this at the Inglewood Wildlife Preserve in Calgary....I don't know if I've ever seen such still, reflective water before.
Interesting story, as I was driving away from this place, I had the radio on, and there was a missing person report. It said that the person's car was found abandoned at the Inglewood Wildlife Preserve. Needless to say...I decided not to go back.
This is a 3 exposure handheld HDR with the Orton Effect applied, and finally some exposure/color enhancement using Topaz Adjust. The picture was quite dull, even after the HDR processing was finished, so I had to add those additional steps to get it looking more interesting :)
Every once in a while I just have to do something dramatic ;-)

Nothing new to post, so I'm reposting this shot I took last July in Banff National Park. When I saw the clouds I knew it would make a great HDR. I actually processed it both as an HDR and an Exposure fusion, then added both shots into Photoshop Elements as layers and reduced the opacity of the HDR shot to about 50%. That seemed to give me what I was looking for. I also ran it through a Topaz Adjust filter to make it a bit more dramatic. Hope you like it!
