Audi RS5

Afgelopen zondag was het weer het tegenovergestelde van wat het nu is. Graadje of 26 en de hele dag strakblauwe lucht aan de rand van Düsseldorf. In Vennhausen werd bij de plaatselijke voetbalclub FC Tannenhof om de 'Tannen~~mof~~hof Cup' gespeeld. Vitesse (onder 16 jaar) eindigde tweede van de twaalf Europese clubs (winst op o.a. Lokomotiv Moskou en FK Senica). Goed, genoeg over voetbal. Bovenstaande RS5 - die nu wel een beetje een voetballersauto aan het worden is - stond om de hoek in de warme zon.

Last Sunday was a good day. It was about 26 degrees and we've had blue skies all day in Düsseldorf. In Vennhausen at the local football club FC Tannenhof was held the 'Tannenhof Cup', a tournament for teams under sixteen. Vitesse (from the Dutch city Arnhem) finished second of the twelve European teams (win against Lokomotiv Moscow and FK Senica). Enough about that, because there is a German Audi RS5 in the picture above. Looking a bit like a football car, right?

Het sportieve broertje van de A8 uit de S-reeks van Audi. De S8 is een hele mooie wagen. Zou er trouwens ooit nog een RS8 komen?

The sporty version of the A8 from the S series from Audi. The new S8 is looking good. Will they ever reveal a RS8?

And again an Italian beauty in the streets of Amsterdam South. Just can't get enough of this car. This time with the right wheels? I believe so. Bella macchina!

Audi S8 D4

Zakelijk, klasse en sportief. De nieuwe S8 (D4) ziet er goed uit en gaat verder met een nieuwe 4.0-liter V8 TFSI-motor onder de kap, waar bij de tweede generatie nog een Lamborghini-V10 lag. Geen zorgen, de prestaties zijn er niet minder om.

The business car from Audi, but at the same time he is sportive. It's the third generation of the S8 (called D4) and it's looking good. Very good. 'Downsizing' is not a new word in Ingolstadt and now they did it also with the new S8. The second generation had a Lamborghini-V10, but the new one has a brand new 4.0-litre V8 TSFI engine under the hood. Don't worry, the performance is no less.

Volgens mij kan ik wel zeggen dat de GranTurismo een tijdloos design heeft. Wat blijft ze schitterend!

I think I can say that the GranTurismo has a timeless design. She's still magnificent!

Maybach 57S

Je zag ze al niet veel, maar nu er helemaal niks meer geproduceerd wordt, is de kans nog kleiner aan het worden dat je ze in het straatbeeld ziet. De 57S hierboven voelt zich echter nog goed thuis in onze P.C.

You don't see a Maybach that much, but now there's no production anymore, the chance is even smaller that you see a Maybach on the road. However, this 57S still feels good in our P.C. Hooftstraat.

Fisker Karma & Opel Ampera

Elektrische auto's zijn hot in Nederland, met name in hartje Amsterdam. Vooral bovenstaande twee, de Fisker Karma en de Opel Ampera zijn erg populair - samen met de misselijkmakende Nissan Leaf. Het blijft opmerkelijk hoeveel Fiskers er inmiddels rondrijden in dit landje in zo'n relatief korte periode. Hopelijk wordt de Tesla Model S net zo'n succes.

Electric cars are hot in the Netherlands. Especially in our capital Amsterdam. I think the Fisker Karma and the Opel Ampera / Chevrolet Volt are the most popular among the electric cars - together with the horrible Nissan Leaf. It remains remarkable how many Fiskers in the Netherlands driving around. So many! Hopefully the new Tesla Model S is also a success soon.

Two-tone California (het dak is deels wit, dat is geen reflectie) in de P.C. vanmiddag. Hij staat ook op de foto bij een aantal Chinese toeristen en ook een groep Italianen had veel bewondering voor de prachtige Ferrari.

Two-tone California (a part of the roof is white, that's not a reflection) this afternoon in the P.C. Hooftstraat. This Italian beauty is also on the photo by a group of Chinese tourists. Even a few Italians were excited when they saw the Ferrari.

Een rondje lopen over het parkeerterrein van Outdoor Gelderland (2012) staat gegarandeerd voor enkele bijzondere wagens. Naast deze MKII van de 997 Carrera 4S stonden er ook een SLS AMG, een RS5 en een matzwarte Panamera.

There are always exclusive cars in the car park during the Outdoor Gelderland event. Not only this German Porsche - the MKII version of the 997 Carrera 4S - but also a matte black Panamera, a RS5 and a SLS AMG.

Voetballers rijden niet allemaal in een Bentley. Dit wás de voormalige voetballersauto van Siem de Jong (Ajax) en heeft inmiddels een nieuwe eigenaar. Tevens het bewijs dat niet alle voetballers een slechte smaak hebben (nog één met een goede smaak qua auto's is Lionel Messi), deze witte CL 63 ziet er namelijk goed uit op z'n zwarte sloffen. Weet iemand wat de nieuwe aanwinst is van de Ajacied?

Not every football player drives a Bentley Continental GT. This Mercedes CL 63 was from Siem de Jong (Ajax Amsterdam). Nowadays he has a new owner. The evidence that not every football player has a bad taste. This white one is looking good with his black rims. Anybody knows what the new car from Siem de Jong is?

BMW Alpina B3 BiTurbo Touring

Parkeren, dat kan deze Duitser uit Stuttgart als de beste. Zoveel ruimte en dan nog scheef in het vak en je voorwielen in het gras planten. Qua prestaties zit het bij deze anonieme Alpina B3 Touring wel goed. 355 pk en genoeg ruimte als station om een tripje Stuttgart-Boedapest te maken.

Great parking skills, Alpina-driver! Enough space to park your car and still he planted his front wheels in the grass. The performances are good enough for this Alpina B3 Touring. 355 bhp and enough space as station car to make the trip Stuttgart-Budapest. Not bad.

Op een mooie zonnige herfstdag in oktober stond deze Carrera GTS Cabriolet te schitteren in het zonnetje. De reclame van 'De Skihut' is dan wel een beetje jammer.

On a beautiful sunny autumn day in October this Porsche was enjoying the sun. The advertising on the side is a bit pity, but further I like this white Carrera GTS Cabriolet with black rims.

Het wemelt van de R8's op en rond de Königsallee, vooral op mooie dagen. Toch blijven ze mooi. En witte lak met zwarte sloffen doen het altijd goed.

There are a lot of Audi R8's on and around the Königsallee, especially on nice (summer) days. On this cloudy day (March last year) I saw only one. But a cool one: white with black rims.

Elisabeth Bridge

Opvallend moderne brug in vergelijking met de bruggen ernaast, deze Elisabethbrug (Erzsébet Híd). Ook mooi verlicht wanneer het donker is. De brug dateert oorspronkelijk uit 1903, maar werd vervangen door deze huidige brug nadat het in de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd verwoest.

Modern bridge in comparison to the other bridges over the Danube next to this one. Beautiful illuminated when it's dark. The bridge was built in 1903, but was destroyed during the Second World War. Years later it was replaced by this modern version.

Netjes opgesteld op een rij, allen in het zwart, maar wel drie verschillende modellen: de Octavia, de Fabia en de Superb. Daarvoor moet je wel een tweede keer kijken. Ze stonden net achter het Kasteel van Boedapest (Budavári Palota).

Just behind the Buda Castle were all black Škoda's. Maybe you have to look twice before you see there are three different models in this row. The Octavia, the Fabia and the Superb.

Ferrari California 30

We liepen bijna voorbij aan deze kleine Ferrari-dealer midden in Boedapest. Binnen stonden drie Ferrari's te glimmen; een witte 458 Italia, een zwarte FF en deze California 30, de kleinste telg van de familie.

We didn't saw this Ferrari showroom at first sight, but when we looked back we saw a few shiny Italian supercars in a store. Besides this California 30, there were also a white 458 Italia and a brand new FF.

Audi A4 Avant

Niks van de chaos gemerkt vandaag door dat kleine beetje sneeuw. Afgelopen december viel er toch zo'n 15-20 centimeter meer. Toch de langste ochtendspits ooit, meer dan duizend kilometer. Heel Nederland loopt weer vast alsof het voor het eerst sneeuwt. Ik hou wel van de sneeuw en de kou, vooral omdat je weer met je camera op pad kan gaan. Vanochtend even op de fiets naar de Zaanse Schans geweest (waar toch nog enkele Japanners/Chinezen/Italianen de sneeuw trotseerden). De Audi A4 stond er verder leuk voor in de besneeuwde Zaanse omgeving.

It was a complete chaos on the road this morning in Holland. I didn't notice, but it was the busiest morning on the highway. Ever. More than one thousand kilometers of traffic jam in our small country. I know, it sounds stupid because we had only a few inches of snow. As if it snowed for the first time. Crazy as always. But I like the snow. There is always something to photograph in the snow. Like this Audi A4 at the Zaanse Schans, a open air museum with typical Dutch houses and traditions.

Porsche Panamera Turbo

Eén van de beste Panamera's die ik op foto heb. Het is op deze foto niet te zien, maar de enorme zwarte velgen stonden er geweldig onder. Kijk daarvoor even naar een eerdere foto uit dit album.

Klein, snel, gaaf, opvallend én Italiaans. Deze 500C is echt een bommetje. Aan beide kanten twee kleine uitlaten, maar zover ik weet geen speciale uitvoering verder.

It's a small, fast, cool and striking car, this little Italian. I don't think it's a special edition, even there were two exhausts on every side. But, I want this car!

Audi S5 Sportback & Mercedes-Benz CLS 55 AMG

Zwart op zwart, op zowel de Audi S5 als de CLS 55 daarachter. Duister sfeertje in de P.C. En een paradijs voor AMG-liefhebbers: nog een aantal binnen een straal van vijftig meter.

Black on black on both cars, the S5 Sportback and the previous Mercedes CLS 55. Within a radius from fifty meters there were more AMG's. Enough to see on the last saturday of December.
