I have lived in New Mexico for the past 3 years, and I have grown to cherish certain aspects of the state (and especially Santa Fe). However, my love affair with New Mexico is coming to an end. I was given the opportunity to participate in a 3.5-month internship in Singapore, so I will be leaving the Land of Enchantment very soon. I will be trading the mountains for the sea, the dry heat for intense humidity, Hatch green chiles for Thai chilis, and the Southwestern culture for an eclectic mix of Chinese, Malay, and Indian cultures. After reflecting on why I enjoyed living in New Mexico, I came up with this list of the New Mexican things that I will miss most.
