Before anyone says it, i'm not starting a suit self-portrait series. This location happens to be on my way home and I couldn't resist stopping on one of the few occasions I was wearing a suit.

Thanks to doppleganger for the suggestion of using this location for my series of self-portraits. He mentioned that this vacant lot in Royal Oak with the modern buildings in front would be an interesting comparison and juxtaposition to the self-portraits i've done in vacant areas in Detroit. I'd say he was right on.

This was also inspired by The Arcade Fire's new album "The Suburbs"

I've also changed the set name to accomodate self-portraits of this nature that don't fit the "post-apocalyptic" theme. I think i'm finally happy with that title.

This guy was bumpin fists with anyone who was willing to, walking along Jefferson Ave during DEMF. Most people dress like this only when they go to festivals, but something tells me these are his everyday clothes. hah

yeah that date is right. This one got lost on my hard drive until I stumbled on it last night. The good news is that I probably would have never thought to process it like this a year ago. Looking at this, I would like to explore more work in this direction. I've been inspired by several of my contacts who specialize in minimalist black and white photos.
