Between shots, Kat started talking to my daughter. I finished adjusting the background light and saw this image.

I am finding that the combination of Color Noise Reduction in NX2 and Nik Glamour Glow works wonders on teenage skin.

Recent images by Bald Monk and ICT_Photo inspired me to go purchase a fish tank and start playing. These are from my first ever session with a tank. I can't tell you how much fun it was! More to come when time allows.

I came across this earlier today and wanted to see what I could do with NX2 and this old JPG (not NEF). I was very pleasantly surprised at the end result.

Total NX2 time: less than 5 minutes.

Back in March 2000, one of the very first shoots I ever did with the D1 was this eagle at a zoo near Seattle. Still one of my favorites.

Eagles seemed to be all the rage at the time. Soon after I made this image, a co-worker who had never seen this image created one very similar to this one on his own.

While traveling through southern Utah, we went for a midnight hike in Natural Bridges. It is reported to be one of the darkest places on earth. Simply amazing night sky! This 30 second exposure doesn't do it justice. The arch is lit entirely by moonlight coming from over my shoulder.

A love note to my wife.

I was listening to the song "Home" by Michael Buble. (Our unofficial theme song, since I average about 150 nights a year on the road.) The verse below sparked an idea.

"And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that"

This image was created in about 5 minutes. I had the idea, jotted down a quick note to my wife and placed it on top of an ironing board next to the window. Light coming through the sheer curtains of the hotel. I had a D60 and 60 micro with me and made the image. BTW... this is a color image.
