This house never fails to deliver and yesterday was no exception. One year after my last visit, it looks in the exact same shape, still sinking into the ground.

Another image from my trip to North Dakota of two weeks ago. This is the second time I attempt to shoot this awesome church, and also the second time I don't get the image I want. Of course for me to succeed I'd need to be there in the early morning, when the sun hits the front of the building. That would mean waking up at an unholy early hour – I don't think that will ever happen :)

This is the first photo I'm sharing from my North Dakota day of rural exploration with Winnipeg photographer Sanjay S. and North Dakota photographer Gabriel Carlson 10 days ago. It was taken during our last stop, after a nice drive through about a mile of muddy road. We loved this farmhouse the moment we saw it, with its cool awning and its total out-of-whackness.

This was taken in the early hours of Sunday during the first stop of our aurora-hunting trip. At that time the aurora was not really delivering, but the starry sky still made for a stunning background. I didn't think much of this image at first, and only processed it because it was the most passable of the day. As it turned out, it has become the most viewed photo on my Facebook page ever, totally shattering (4x) the previous high. Who would've known?

The fog was very thick and made for an amazing day of photography. Hard to believe there's still so much snow on the ground out there in the fields. Here's hoping the floods will not be a major rural disaster like a couple years ago.
