Question: How do YOU pronounce "bokeh?"

I read that it's pronounced "BO-kuh", but I vote "bo-KAY." "BO-kuh" just doesn't sound pretty enough for dreamy backgrounds and pretty bouquets of bubbles!

I usually do not like texture on flower petals and take pains to erase it off. But this flower was so out of focus, keeping the texture looked better in an artsy way. I also wanted to try using just one texture. This is Flypaper Textures "Rainbow Trout" used in three blend modes - one Multiply (very lightly erased) and two Soft Lights. Straightened and cropped in Picasa.

Since I no longer have a garden that offers photography opportunities, I am stretching to make the most of previous rejects.
Leslie Nicole's French Kiss Textures
Shadowhouse Creations masks (to burn out the edges), and
an Isabelle LaFrance texture that does a great job of adding color to areas with too much highlight. -- used both right-side up and upside down.

Best in Lightbox -- the edges look much better.

I have been super-busy helping to create a friend's resume but will be catching up soon.

Finally, a day off. I slept til 4 pm.

I love these two textures from Isabelle LaFrance and Sterling Silver (Being_Together) (Gaussian blur applied to both for a more subtle appearance, textures mostly erased from the leaves using the new masks in PSE9). SOOC below.

So sorry to have suddenly dropped out of sight on your streams. I have been working 12-16 hours each day while we finish a big promotion. Happily, though, I am extremely blessed to have a job I enjoy, team mates who are close friends, and great managers. And well-stocked vending machines ;~)

Just returned from wonderful 6 days with my wonderful mom. This is a 4-year old lacey oak; I am standing underneath looking waaay up. (Photo from June '09 in comment below).
