This is the street where I live, where I have my house. With a little effort you will find which one :) Wilrijk, 10 minutes drive to Antwerp center normal traffic, 15 minutes heavy traffic. 5 minutes to large parks Nachtegalenpark and Steytelinckpark.

You can almost feel the silence in this park forest, 20 km from Antwerp. When the morning mist clears up, the nature sings out his beauty with the colours of the trees, the flowers and plants.

The old bridge has a wrinkled face. He bends his back for us to go over.
He moans and weeps but we do not hear. Sorrow stands in his face for the heavy weight and worry of people passing.
The trees drop their leaves into the water, the sky nods to him. The leaves float down like small ships on the blue surface which is the sky.
He is not always sad, he smiles to see the different worlds go down and the little children playing on the river banks.

Bouchout Castle

The 12th-century Bouchout Castle, surrounded by the National Botanic Garden of Belgium, is a unique castle in the domain.
In the beginning of the 12th century, the troops of the Duke of Brabant came face tot face with the troops of Meise, the 'Milites de Menza'. Both strongholds became water castles surrounded with a park. Meise Castle burnt down totally during the Second World War. Bouchout Castle has been altered many times; only the square tower, the eldest part of the castle, dates of the 14th century. The Empress Charlotte, the sister of King Leopold II, and widow of the executed Emperor of Mexico, lived here almost her entire life. The present architecture dates from 1830, the interior from 1980. Nowadays Bouchout Castle is used for meetings, lectures and exhibitions.
