my baby girl is eleven months old today. where has the year gone? today my mother in law asked me which went by slower, my pregnancy or the past eleven months. the answer: my pregnancy, for sure. granted, i loved being pregnant, so i was okay with it. but oh my goodness can this little girl stop growing up now? i looked back through all her previous monthly pictures i have taken and i can't even believe how little she was. baby days are too short. i wish they would stay like this just a little bit longer. <3

my favorite time to take pictures of Bay is when she is in her highchair. i guess since she is contained it just makes it easier. haha. but also when she is eating she shows off those teeth more! we are at 8 but i think one more is trying to make an appearance.

sometimes i think that i will get baby fever again, especially when i see a newborn, but i don't. i do for a second, but i realize that they just grow so fast and they will just keep growing. i lived through this little girl's baby time and i would LOVE to have it back, but only with her. she is the only one for me. <3

baking these chocolate chip cookies. i found the recipe on pinterest, tweaked it a little, and i now have the absolute BEST recipe for chocolate chip cookies, ever. ever ever.

also, how rad is it that these cookies match my granite?

Today we had some family & friends over while my husband brewed two batches of beer. It was a fun, busy, and exhausting day. I'm looking forward to falling into my bed right about now......

I've been breaking in my new kitchen by baking and cooking like crazy. This weekend alone I made chocolate chocolate chip muffins, chocolate chip cookies, bread, pie crusts, baked potato soup.... And so much more to come! :)

playing a little catch up. i just don't always have time to get on the computer and upload, but i do take a picture everyday. the one thing that is bothering me about this 365 is that with previous 365 attempts i at least TRIED to do something awesome and innovative with my photography once in a while. not so much now. but i need to remind myself that i am busy and that i have all year to spruce up this project.
we have successfully opened all of our boxes and have most things put away. there are just some minor details that we need done. also the blinds that we ordered came in yesterday we just have to get them installed next week. sorry neighbors, you don't get to see us naked anymore. ;)

today we made a huge decision to get rid of our spare queen bed and extra dresser and allow me to finally have the craft room that i have always wanted. i don't really care for house guests anyway.

a few months ago we put an empty box in front of bay and the reaction was minimal. today we put a long empty box in front of her and she had so much fun. a first she crawled in and just kept laughing. then i had brad open the other end and she went right through! it was so cute. i love watching her learn and grow and explore. daily i worry that i am not doing enough to help her develop but i need to stop worrying and just do the best that i can. raising kids isn't easy. but it sure is fun. <3

When I painted this wall in the baby's room I immediately told my husband that many a portrait will be taken in front of this beautiful wall. Here is number one.

In any rate, self portraits are still super foreign feeling to me. Who would have thought you could fall out of practice with something like this. Hmp.

This week I will start working on my photog business again. Nothing like moving to a new place and having to get your name out there all over again.

Our house is *almost* put together (I feel like I say that every day, but it really is this time). So we sook some time out this afternoon to take Bay to the park near us and she played on the swings and the slide. This will be the park that she will grow up playing at. Things like that make me really happy about finally owning our own home with our little family. <3

Today my parents came up to help my husband install ceiling fans & mount our TV so I got extra time alone with this girl.
I'm so happy it's a 3 day weekend. Today was productive and the goal is to have the house unpacked & clean by Tuesday night.

January 17th: This is so me
We celebrated our new house on Champagne Thursday with a bottle that my brother in law gave us. It was my first time ever opening a champagne bottle on my own and well... I didn't have my hand on it and it flew off and hit the ceiling. Luckily it missed our overhead lighting and it didn't wake up the baby.

We are almost done unpacking. My least favorite thing to unpack is clothes. I hate putting them away even thought we have plenty of room for all of them. It's just so tedious. I did a purge on a lot of my books and now my bookshelves are pretty empty and I'm okay with that.

One big reason I was never a fan of doing full self portrait 365s is because I am not a fan of showering everyday. I'm lazy. But I find it funny that the day I want to do a self portrait in my 365 is the day I chose not to shower. I look haggard. I might have to make a better appearance in my 365 tomorrow. Because yes, I will shower tomorrow. I am (normally) only a skip one day kind of shower person. Anymore than that and I just feel siiiick.

Last night we got to cook in our kitchen for the first time as a family. Our house is slowly getting put together and we are so ready for these boxes to be out of here! We just want our house to look like a house.

My kitchen is freaking amazing. I have so much cabinet space I don't even know what to do with it. It's awesome.

Life has been really busy with the move and I am behind in my school work right now. Ugh. But I will get caught up and I will pass my class. Because I have to.
