About 1 hour past Dewey we reached Anderson Lake. We learned by way of sign that it is officially in the Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park, so we couldn't camp at the lake itself...bummer!

Our last night we returned out to Dewey Lake, and ended up setting up camp on Little Dewey on a little overlook on the lake. Lots of sun, and lots of blueberries!

We actually stayed the night about 100 yards up trail in the Basin Overlook Camp of the PCT, so we got to see the sun go down on the lake.

Basin Overlook as the sun sets on the American Ridge in the distance. The Elk will wake us up at 2:30am with their bugling and mating rituals at Anderson lake. Never knew Elk were so noisy at night!

Here is the basin overlook camp about 100 yards up the PCT from Anderson Lake. Nice spot with view of American river valley and the American ridge. And as plus, my verizon phone got internet here! So we sent email!

We hiked around Dewey again, and this was the shot of our camp from the far side of Little Dewey. I guess you wouldn't call it "stealth camping" as everyone could see us from the PCT.

Choices...choices. Trail intersection for Naches Loop and Dewey lakes. We took the Dewey Lakes trail at this point.

Another few miles down the PCT, we took the American Ridge trail and came to American Lake. Small, but great lake and good swimming area, too.
