Today my youngest son and his wife had a "reveal party" to find out if their expected baby is a boy or girl. They used a pinata for the reveal. So much fun!

So...tomorrow we may see the down side of spring. Severe weather is forecast. It has already been announced that schools will dismiss early. Severe weather is taken very seriously here - we still have very deep scars from the last couple of years.

I have my weather radio, battery operated radio, a couple of weather alert and radar apps on my phone, flashlight, and my knitting.

My knitting? Yup...nothing better to calm my nerves!

The son of a friend of mine celebrated his first birthday today. This was his "personal cake"...you know, the one he gets to smash up and smear all over himself - which is exactly what he did! He was not overly impressed with the cake, but the frosting? WOW!

I love the colors in this yarn. I am only making a scarf with it - a very simple one at that. But, this yarn is a fingering yarn and I am knitting the scarf on rather large needles - so it is very light and loose. Will be perfect in the fall just as the weather starts to turn cool. Think I'll keep it for myself!

If you don't live in Alabama, chances are you won't get this shot. But we may have severe (which means tornados to us) weather tonight and early tomorrow morning - and this is one of our local meteorologists. He is extremely proactive when it comes to severe weather. Some say over the top. Thanks to him, all our local TV stations will go to live weather broadcasting if a tornado warning is issued. Now, James Spann will start out with his suit coat on, but the longer and more severe the event, the jacket comes off (and he always wears suspenders). And, if he rolls up his sleeves, better take cover! May be dramatic but when we are looking at scary weather, he's the one I tune in to.

My husband's birthday. He does not like any kind of fuss on his birthday - something I generally ignore! I did agree to not make a cake - but baked brownies instead - found a candle and voila!

Unlike most knitters, I love to knit scarves. I want them for every outfit. This is one I started today and I can't wait until it get a little longer so the pattern shows...I love it...it's the same on both sides...and it's just a one row repeat. I have also ordered some yarn to make a lighter spring-time scarf.

We just got word that due to the possibility of freezing rain, we will be delayed for work (school) tomorrow by 3 hours!! Great way to start a Friday!

I have in my bathroom a shot of a flower took in Orange Beach a few years ago. The background of the photo is very dark and the mat and frame are black - so there is a lot of reflection off the glass in the frame.

well - other than the dust on the grapes!! this colander with (fake) fruit sits on our kitchen table.
so that we always know where it is, we keep our spare charger in the fruit bowl.
it is for our apple products after all!

I had to spend the greater part of the morning outside with my scaredy-cat dog trying to coax him into the yard to take care of business. Our next door neighbors were getting their roof redone and the noise absolutely terrified Max. While I was outside, I decided to look around and see what I could find. I picked up several pine cones, sweet gum balls, lichen, etc. - but this little branch with it's little pine cones attached caught my attention.

We have these alphabet puzzle thingys that we use to carpet our hardwood floors when our granddaughter visits. Yesterday, we soaked and washed them. I left them overnight to dry...this morning they were carpeting my bathroom floor...so I took a shot.
