I'm about to begin something I would never have imagined doing. I'm returning to my roots, but in a way that I hope to be different than before, at least eventually.

For the past few months, I have felt tired and disconnected. My work has no meaning, no passion, and it is, in my eyes, lifeless. It was all based on face-value and not personal meaning, and I vowed I would never let my work come to that. I love fashion, love editorial work, but I want to bring back my roots, maybe even one day truly combine the two.

But for now, I am embarking on a project that I think will do me good. I have begun writing again, writing out my thoughts, feelings, dreams, whatever it is that comes to my mind and I am aiming to create short films out of them. These images will also serve as inspiration or a platform through which those short films will develop. So in a way, these are to serve as stills, or scenes from a larger story that I will create either tomorrow, or 5 years from now. I do not know.

I don't want these to be seen as "going backwards" but as me going forward to a point that I can actually be proud of my work. This will all seem very strange to me, and maybe even you, but who knows, maybe this will all be good for me and my work or maybe it won't be. I suppose I won't find out until further into this project.
