This is another shot of Pittsburgh. This is a more closeup and personal than my previous panorama shot that I have uploaded. Pittsburgh is about 2 hour drive from where I live. I have tons of images in my archives that I need to work on. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Pittsburgh (pronounced /ˈpɪtsbərɡ/), Pennsylvania, located in the United States, is the second largest city in the state and is the county seat of Allegheny County.[9] Its population was 334,563 at the 2000 census; by 2006, it was estimated to have fallen to 312,819.[10] The population of the seven-county metropolitan area is 2,462,571.[11] Downtown Pittsburgh retains substantial economic influence, ranking at 25th in the nation for jobs within the urban core (and is 6th in job density).[12]

The characteristic shape of the city's downtown is a triangular tract carved by the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, where the Ohio River forms. The city features 151 high-rise buildings,[13] 446 bridges,[14] two inclined railways, and a pre-revolutionary fortification. Pittsburgh is known colloquially as "The City of Bridges" and "The Steel City" for its many bridges and former steel manufacturing base.

While the city is historically known for its steel industry, today its economy is largely based on healthcare, education, technology, robotics, and financial services. The region is also becoming a hub for oil and natural gas companies' Marcellus Shale production.[15] The city has made great strides in redeveloping abandoned industrial sites with new housing, shopping and offices, such as the SouthSide Works. While Pittsburgh faced economic troubles in the mid 1980s as the steel industry waned, modern Pittsburgh is economically strong. The housing market is relatively stable despite a national subprime mortgage crisis, and Pittsburgh added jobs in 2008 even as the national economy entered a significant jobs recession.[16] This positive economic news is in contrast to the 1980s, when Pittsburgh lost its manufacturing base in steel and electronics and corporate jobs in the oil (Gulf Oil), electronics (Westinghouse), chemical (Koppers) and defense (Rockwell International) industries because of cheaper imports. The city is also headquarters to major global financial institutions PNC Financial Services (the nation's fifth largest bank), Federated Investors and the regional headquarters of The Bank of New York Mellon, itself partially descended from Mellon Financial and once had strong ties to the Mellon family. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share another shot of that lovely Letchworth Middle Waterfall in Northwest New York State. It is very close to me here and such a wonderful sight during the fall times. I would love to be stuck in this moment of time eternally :-) ... I love waterfalls ... and I love fall too.. too bad it doesn't last too long.

107 feet tall waterfall ( 32.6 meters for all you metric folks ) :-))

Simple long exposure with 3 bracketed RAW captures merged and carefully processed between Photomatix and CS3 to achieve realistic tones and appearance. Very simple processing to say the least. I haven't done any HDRs in a while. Enjoy it all you HDR fanatics. I am not as attached to HDR as I used to be. A lot of times I achieve my desired results with a simple RAW processing.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
I have been pretty busy with different tasks personal and business... just wanted to upload something in the meantime. No time to mess around with anything so I found something that looked half decent without much photoshopping.
Autumn Silky Waterfall Paradise HDR Letchworth State Park NY

:: Igor Borisenko Photography :: posted a photo:

Well I am finally back from New York! It was one of the best trips I have taken in my entire life. I am working from home today and recovering from all the hiking that I have done. This image is a prime example that subtle HDR is capable to represent the scene in a very realistic manner. Not all HDR images created equally. There are a tons of poorly processed HDR images that give this type of photography a bad name.

This is the world famous Middle Falls at the Letchworth State Park during the most wonderful day of the fall. It was very warm (80F) nice and sunny and very colorful. The park was crowded with people and photographers all over. This park is also known as Grand Canyon East. One of the best parks! I would highly recommend putting this park on your list if you haven't been to it. I can't believe I never went to it and it's only 2.5 hour drive from my house :) Right now it's the best time to see it before all the colorful leaves will vanish like they did by my house already and pretty much over night :(

Once again this is my second HDR vertorama (Vertical Panorama) composed from 6 captures using Hoya ND8 (Neutral Density) dark filter to achieve long exposure and make the water silky smooth. f/22 2"

Also I would like to thank my dear friend Elizabeth from NY for all the assistance and updates regarding the fall foliage at the park. I really appreciate all your help my friend. I enjoyed the park and New York very much :D More images will follow in the near future!

This is as real as it gets... Let me know what you guys think. :)
The Bayfront Convention Center

:: Igor Borisenko Photography :: posted a photo:

This photo is the result of pure luck. This is more like an editorial shot. I was trying to photograph our wonderful convention center that was recently build after the fireworks show and during this long exposure I happened to capture sporadic burst of fireworks in the distance. I heard the boom but I figured that it would not show up on my long exposure capture since it was right before the shutter closed but to my amazement the burst showed up and I couldn't be any happier. I like this shot a lot. I think this long exposure came out pretty good. What do you guys think? This is just converted RAW from my camera. There wasn't much to do in my opinion with this shot.

On the left which you don't see in this capture is Sheraton hotel and it's connected with that bridge to our convention center. The Bayfront Convention Center is the modern looking facility resembling a ship. I will have more images of the convention center at some point.
The Bayfront Convention Center

I have been very busy lately but I wanted to upload something from my massive archives. Not much is done here at all except some toning in CS2. For Some reason I really like this capture. It has an interesting feel to it.

This is the capture of our fierce and very powerful world famous Niagara waterfalls. It is a pretty fantastic place considering it's only two hours away drive for me and unfortunately we have taken this place for granted since I have been to it so many times. Whoever comes to visit us they all want to see the falls so we usually have to take them and show them the falling water glory :-)

UPDATE: Depending on your screen brightness you may see a creepy face in this waterfall I just did and I can't believe it!!! :-) Or maybe it's just me I don't know...

This lovely sculpture is located around downtown Erie, Pennsylvania. It is covered with ice right now. We are living in ice age around here. I am starting to love some black and white images and just a few years back I used to hate them... Wow what a change you may say! There is something in b&w that I am attracted to... the mood is totally different here from the original color one.

I noticed that Flickr is coming back to life so I thought I would catch up a little. Also I am celebrating my 200 images that I have uploaded to date :-)

I am pretty happy to present my first ever moon eclipse shot. And I think I did OK on it for the first time. It was very cold and at times it was cloudy with heavy snow and then the clouds moved away and I was lucky to capture this. :-) This is the last moon eclipse until sometime in 2010!

It was pretty tricky to get the correct exposure of clouds and the moon. It was a bit of trial and error with the manual focus and exposure. It was very cold and that's what made it even tougher. It was 5F or -15C! I think I got frostbites on my hands and my feet since I was out there in my slippers and without a jacket for close to an hour... but I think I will be fine and it was worth it in my opinion. Now it's time to sleep....

I just wanted to experiment something different. I need to do some work with people and this is my first one so it's not all that good. The nice thing is that our house is full of wonderful models for me to practice on... lol.

I noticed I haven't done much with textures in a while. This shot was taken in the car while traveling and it was one of those crappy shots but I thought there was some potential with these contrasting expressions. For some reason I like the results of this unusual work. My models are pretty happy with this too :-) Let me know what you guys think.

This was shot around midnight with 30 second exposure during thick fog. I modified white balance a bit in PS and added Orton effect to enhance the mood. I just made one correction I flipped the canvas I think it's more pleasing to the eye and less distracting... I keep forgetting about that flip feature in PS ... :D

FYI: My office computer was running very slow lately even though it's fairly new so I used software called System Mechanic made by iolo company. It is a fantastic software to keep your computer running like new. It's simply amazing! So if any of you experience anything like that this software will resurrect your computer. I just wanted to share this with you guys ;)

Have a nice day Everyone! Thank you everyone for your continued support with your wonderful feedback and awards! I really appreciate that :D
There is not much left from my original capture here just the airplane and a few bits after my extensive work in Photoshop CS2.... I hope you guys like this :) Please let me know....

I'm still feeling weird so another shot that did not require any processing except some orton effect to minimize the noise of 30 second high ISO shot. For some reason I like this shot. This was shot around 11 P.M.
It's been pretty hot around here lately so I figured I can upload one of my frozen shots from my vast archives. This image was taken with my previous Nikon D50 camera. This is a single RAW shot captured with ND8 filter since the light was very harsh. I have been very busy these days. Enjoy it! Cheers.

This is the Upper Falls from the Letchworth State Park in Western New York. Single RAW shot of a wonderful place during the Autumn time...

We have had snow on the ground for at least 3 or more weeks now and I haven't seen a single little patch of grass in such a long time... the winter is so early this year and has been kind of brutal. Currently we have at least 18 inches on the ground.

It was a nice break! I needed to boost my social life a notch. Had a wonderful time with family and friends during the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope all of you had a wonderful time as well. It's a wonderful feeling counting our blessings with our friends.
Natural Sepia Outside My Window

:: Igor Borisenko Photography :: posted a photo:

This natural sepia toned winter wonderland shot came out of my camera to my amazement with 30 second exposure of our blizzard-like conditions here. The atmosphere around midnight with all this snow coming down has been pretty amazing to say the least. I think I managed pretty decent exposure here :-)

This is what they call "lake effect snow storm" We are measuring snow in feet here now and it's very cold and windy too 2F (-17C). I just got done shoveling snow outside. There is probably close to 3 feet out there already and it hasn't quit yet. They are forecasting another foot tonight. It has been snowing nonstop since Friday.
Natural Sepia Outside My Window

I was too busy last night packing and gift wrapping gifts for the Operation Christmas Child since today is the deadline. I discovered my lack of gift wrapping skills last night but I had to do it since everyone else was sleeping in the house ... :( Our church participates in this wonderful ministry every year. More info can be found here: www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC.asp?MPGID=1 It so nice to bring some joy and Christmas spirit to the less privileged kids around the world :)

What is Operation Christmas Child?
"Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands—on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas"

I will be very busy today as well :( Maybe I will find some time to visit Flickrworld around lunch time...

I had to find something that didn't need any processing and I found this in my Lightroom image managing software.

Have a Wonderful Friday and Upcoming Weekend Everyone! ~Best Viewed Large!~

I was out of town this weekend and was very busy I'm still not really back to Flickrland until Monday about lunch time. Hope to see you guys later.

This house had a for sale sign in front of it. The trees in the backyard with sun hitting on them made this scene worthwhile stopping and capturing this moment....

I just wonted to upload another wonderful colorful scene around our beautiful Pennsylvania right now. This is a RAW capture processed with Lightroom and Photoshop a little bit to resemble the scene... ~This is Best Viewed Large~ Have a wonderful night or day :) I'm going to sleep now!
