Visited my sister's place in the township of Amanora in the city of Pune. Looks like a nice planned city within a city! Lots of sky scraping homes and lovely amenities. This the Club House of the Amanora town center. Had to take multiple exposures to make sure all the shadows and highlights were captured.

Sorry folks, have been busy last month and dont have any new photos to upload yet.. Here is a shot we captured at Joshua Tree National Park in California.

Added a bit of creativity to a relatively not-so-interesting landscape. Hope you like it.

I'm experimenting with some macro shots these days so will be back with something interesting I shoot, if I am successful!

We were driving by a farm along San Luis Obispo along California's Central coast, when we spotted this gorgeous sheep. She seemed to be enjoying lazing in the golden morning sun and grazing away to glory!

I love taking animal photos with the SAL70300G. Its so sharp and has very less artifacts even at 300mm. Its one of my favorite lenses for animal photography.

Happy Lohri/Sankranti/Uttarayan/Magha Bihu/Pongal to everyone!

Hindus celebrate a host of winter festivals in mid-January. In North India, it's Lohri on the 13th. On the 14th, people observe Makarsankranti across India, Uttarayan in the West, Pongal and Tamil New Year in the South, and Magha Bihu in the East.

Horseshoe Bend - Page, Arizona

[Repost for my friends] - Horseshoe Bend is the name for a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, in the United States. The bend is locally known as "King Bend." It is located slightly downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, about four miles or 6 km south of Page. Accessible via a ¾-mile (1.2 km) hike from U.S. Route 89, it can be viewed from the steep cliff above. According to Google terrain maps, the overlook is 4,200 feet above sea level and the Colorado River is at 3,200 feet above sea level making it a breathtaking 1,000 foot drop.

This is an improved version of the Horseshoe Bend photo from our visit to Arizona a few months ago. Hope you all like it and have a great day!

[REPOST] For all my new Flickr friends! One of my fav shots in my stream.

The moon presents a real challenge in photography. This is one of the only shots that had nice exposure as well as sharpness.

This picture was taken after dark on California's central coast (San Simeon). Equipment used: Sony DSLR-A500 and a SAL 70-300G lens.

Rancho Palos Verdes, California - 15 shot Panorama

Well the earth IS really round (geoid), isn't it?

A 15-shot panorama of Rancho Palos Verdes proves just that! This beautiful panoramic view was shot from a turnout just after making a left on Hawthorne Blvd on Palos Verdes Drive South.

This beautiful peninsula is a hidden in the South Bay. Very close from the city of Torrance, the city of Rancho Palos Verdes is a must see for the visitors to the South Bay in Los Angeles.

Auto Rickshaws are one fo the most popular modes of communication in India. We spotted this lovely Rajinikanth Auto ont he streets on Chennai, Tamil Nadu. For those of you who are not aware of this legend, he is an Indian film actor, media personality, and cultural icon. Rajinikanth has been called the most popular Indian film actor of his time.

A view of the famous Hindu Temple at Calabasas in Southern California. A beautiful place, very serene and scenic. The Malibu Canyon State Park is in the proximity.

I am not very sure about the asymmetry about the idols on the outer walls but I think its something to do with the 'Navagrahas' where 9 deities face particular directions. Some wise person can throw more light on this.

Sunburst using the 'old school' low aperture method to create the star burst effect when sun is behind subject, accentuated with PP.

That's what my new born baby boy says! And that explains why I have not been on Flickr. Our new bundle of joy is keeping us busy 24x7. Its a pleasure!

Hopefully I will be back soon with some new uploads. Until then, its diaper changing time!
