Horseshoe Bend - Page, Arizona

[Repost for my friends] - Horseshoe Bend is the name for a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona, in the United States. The bend is locally known as "King Bend." It is located slightly downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, about four miles or 6 km south of Page. Accessible via a ¾-mile (1.2 km) hike from U.S. Route 89, it can be viewed from the steep cliff above. According to Google terrain maps, the overlook is 4,200 feet above sea level and the Colorado River is at 3,200 feet above sea level making it a breathtaking 1,000 foot drop.

[REPOST] For all my new Flickr friends! One of my fav shots in my stream.

The moon presents a real challenge in photography. This is one of the only shots that had nice exposure as well as sharpness.

This picture was taken after dark on California's central coast (San Simeon). Equipment used: Sony DSLR-A500 and a SAL 70-300G lens.

Beefsteak tomatoes harvested from our garden. They are pretty large! This is the harvest from one plant. This is the reason why we usually grow only about 3 tomato plants - they produce a lot, especially the indeterminate varieties.

Have been a bit busy with family matters so not very active on Flickr these day, but I hope to be around more as and when time permits! Cheers!!

On our journey to Keystone Harbor, we spotted these two boats. The light was rather bright so I ended up taking multiple exposure for this shot. Gives it a HDR-like look.

This beautiful house was on Keystone Harbor. We were on course to reach Mt Vernon from Forks which was a fun trip involving ferry trips - which was a unique and fun experience.

Washington is without doubt one of the most beautiful and unique places we have visited!

This little fella was ready to pose for everyone to shoot. We saw a lot of these blue birds at the Narada falls location. They are very beautiful.

Update: I found out this is called a Stellar's Jay

Visited my sister's place in the township of Amanora in the city of Pune. Looks like a nice planned city within a city! Lots of sky scraping homes and lovely amenities. This the Club House of the Amanora town center. Had to take multiple exposures to make sure all the shadows and highlights were captured.

Fenugreek leaves are a healthy addition to your greens. In Indian cuisine, its usually eaten with Indian bread called roti or paratha or chapati. Harvested from our veggie garden!

Watermelon harvest

A watermelon harvested from our garden. The honeydews we harvested last week were quite good so I am expecting the watermelons to be nice too! We have about 5 growing right now, so harvesting them one by one!

Musk Melons growing in our backyard. We've been doing a lot of summer planting in our backyard and the results look good so far! The white ones are supposedly called Honeydew and the yellow ones are called Cantaloupe!

Hello friends, sorry for being so much off and on :)

Cheers to the start of summer. I was watering one of our strawberry pots and noticed a pigeon fitting right on it. It wouldnt move! When it flew away (for sometime), my guess was right - these are nesting pigeons. I saw two lovely eggs.

This evening I saw the neighbors cat trying to get on top of it. I hope the pigeon family remains safe from them. Any advice on how to handle this situation would be helpful!
