Liberty Gets Her Wings

Sunrise, DIA (Denver International Airport). Having cleared TSA security screening, Libby looks out from concourse B at our waiting chariot. The only thing she doesn't like about flying is that she cannot stick her head out of the window... Otherwise she's as at home in the passenger cabin of an airliner as she is in my car.

Not many dogs are allowed to do this, but Libby is special. Her certification gets her strait though TSA security checkpoints and onto the plane.

Taken from seat 5C (bulkhead just behind Business Class) at 36,000' on the A321 as we flew across America yesterday. Not many dogs are allowed to do this, but Libby is special. Her certification gets her though TSA security checkpoints and onto the plane. She is such a good passenger and simply lays at my feet. On this leg, a 3.5 hour flight, pretty much most of the 180 other passengers were aware Libby was on board and so very many came up front to meet her. I don't like all the attention, but Libby sure did! She is so content to fly with me that as we deplaned our final flight last night the woman sitting directly behind and across from us remarked that she had no idea there was a dog on board, let alone sitting right next to her!

Today, November 17, 2012, my baby girl is 11 years old. After yet another year I am so very happy to say that she still looks, and more importantly acts like she is 2. So very highly spirited, I have been waiting many years for her to slow down, just a bit. Oh no, not Belle. She is still very much at the top of her game and showing no signs of her age. She is as beautiful, and energetic as she has ever been. I have been so very blessed in so many ways, but to be the one who calls her 'mine' is at the top of my list... Happy birthday my angel. I love you so very, very much.
